A Ferrari 1-2 with a Hamilton DNF would be most welcome for the Championship.
Not in this household. The only acceptable alternative to Lewis extending his lead over Seb in the championship here is a result that no ferraris or mercs finish, and red bull get a 1-2.
...or anything except for a Ferrari still being in the championship hunt. When they stop demanding unfair financial (read competitive) advantage over other teams just because "they are Ferrari", then I may begin to view them differently. I am not holding my breath on that...

On his f1 debut Hartley starts at the back of the grid due to engine penalties.
It really is a farcical situation.
Try explaining that to the thousands of new spectators in NZ that this driver will have added.
Safest place for him! (going from his comments on the drivers confrence)It really is a farcical situation.

Yeah, some of the F1 drivers should.do some F2 races. What could possibly go wrong?
There was a race of team managers, back in the 70s, all in Escorts, possibly Mexicos. It was at Brands. It was fabulous. From memory, Chapman led to the last lap but didn't make it through Clearways.
Bring that one back. It was all the crowd were talking about.
Or, as it is over 40 years ago, I could have got it all mixed up in my mind.
EDITED TO ADD:
I've found it on YouTube. Funny, I thought it was at a GP. Also, the race isn't quite what I remembered. I won't spoil it for you:

Well worth ten minutes of your life. The commentary is 'sparkling' as well, with the dry wit of G. Hill.
Also, you can see me in the crowd at Clearways.

Then various team members raced each other in new (then) XR3i Escorts.
Patrick Head and Nigels had bits missing by the time they were out of Paddock Hill Bend on lap1.
They should do this sort of thing more often. Imagine Wolff, Horner and Arrivabene racing each other....

The problem with the manufacturers involved these days is that they'd never agree which car to use for something like this.
you could use all the manufacturer's & have 4 races, but still one make specific ...& maybe link it to manufacturer's 'home' races? so grid full of Honda's at Suzuka, Ferrari's at Monza, bit more tricky with Merc & Renault- maybe Austria & SpaMr_Thyroid said:

Germany and France are both back on the calendar next year.Dr Z said:

Who is actually subbing for whom? Is Kvyat deemed to be back in his original car, so Hartley is actually taking over Sainz's car, or is Harltey subbing for Gasley, who in turn replaced Kvyat, and Kvyat is coming back in Sainz's car? How this is determined will surely have an effect on tyre allocations and PU component usage?
Classic! I don't have a clue, but I'm guessing Kvyat will take over Sainz's PU allocation, with Hartley taking over Gasly's PU allocation, which was originally Kvyat's! The current PU allocation is about the same for both TR cars, but Kvyat went though engines quite quickly on to his 5th components, with Sainz taking penalties to take his fifth last race. So, Kvyat should now have a fresher engine to play with?!
No split in the tyre allocations between the drivers, so that should be easy.

It would never work....It's a great idea and the fans would enjoy it.
