If I’m right he has also won all the races at the “additional” circuits (Mugello, Portimao, Imola and Eiffel) so I would think he would want the clean sweep and include the outer circuit at Bahrain.
He also won in Turkey and Spain, neither of which were scheduled races this season. Quite the record.
Is Lewis the driver who has won at the most individual events/ locations ever?

Agreed, a great chance for a Renault or McLaren to do something different and take a result, maybe even a win.

Working the deployment system hard could also result in failures, especially at the end of the season with every engine having done a few races already.

I wonder if someone’s (Hi, Max V!) strategy might be to break out a new engine at the first Bahrain race, taking the penalty there in order to add a new PU to the pool for the second race?
If I was Ricciardo/Renault I'd be considering this option very very seriously

Yep, he has won at 30 different circuits.

I think this will be the closest we will ever see a v6 turbo hybrid to ‘flat’ out.
I think Shov said, at one of the de-briefs after Monza, that despite them having the highest trap speed, it was limited by hitting the rev limiter in 8th as they select the ratio to work best for the whole season. So for them at least it's 360km/h

They should allow an exceptional gear change for this race given it was in no-ones plans at the start of the year.

What is the theoretical top speed?

Sorry, not for ‘top speed’ but flat for the GP, as they’ll be able to use almost the 100kg fuel flow limit in the hour, + the 33 seconds of ERS deployment per short lap. (So like a V10 would attack the circuit).

Looking at last yrs corner speeds and traps, at the end of the start finish (for BAH2) it should be 340kph, 2nd straight 320kph, and penultimate straight 340kph +.

They’ll be able to use 100kg in an hour, but the race will be around 85 minutes long and they are only allowed 110kg in the tank...

Does that not equal a race of massive fuel saving?

I believe he is also the only driver to have won at all circuits raced at, although I may be wrong on that.

Most races are fuel saving and most would be a longer (time) GP than this. Some of the cars under fuel as well most GP the fuel flow limit is not approached.

Some may well under fuel for weight advantage and or safety car, my view is this will be a flat out maximum use of power sprint.

Let’s hope you’re right! Definitely looking forward to this one, perhaps more than any other race this season.

I'm pretty sure he hasn't won Korea and possibly India? Unless you meant circuits currently raced at then yes he has

Thank you both, you are both correct, Hamilton has not won at those 4 circuits. Not a bad record though since they have only raced once or twice at those circuits since 2007.

I’m in Dubai, there’s talk of rain here in the next couple of days too.

Usually this weekend would be the final event in AD, pushing things a couple of weeks later might well see some inclement weather for the last three races.

I’m at Heathrow and just saw a new front wing on its way to Bahrain. No idea of the team but my geeky levels spiked!

I'm guessing they're using the same procedures as they did for the WEC event at the beginning of November, namely:

download official Bahrain app before travelling
fly in
get COVID test before getting to baggage reclaim
get baggage and then straight to your hotel, isolate and await pass or fail text/notification via the app.

An extremely well run and efficient system.
