In my iPhone, which I am using in Greece, I found it quicker to remove the app and reinstall. Have the apps all open and just up and slide left to right between vpn and App Store. In Greece

Together we will get through this! All we need to do now is sort Duke Caboom‘s problems out.
This is going to get out of control, every season there are more and more questions about F1TV!!These forums are going to get properly busy on Sunday and all those fed up with sky will find this thread and ask what a VPN is - this job will never end... We all now work in tech support full time.

There is imo 100% nothing illegal at play in what has been discussed here, apart from Luke Brown and his illegal streaming habits.. But it's a weird situation as Sky are supposed to have the exclusive rights yet F1TV are casually selling to anyone that happens to use a VPN, even if that customer states they are a UK resident when they register their account - as I did.
Well I've tried the VPN and followed the instructions but cannot get it to work. Successfully got the £59.99 value to show up and the Google pay but seems to work, but when going back into the app the live stream icons are locked, have attempted several times to 'restore purchase' but keep getting the 'opps something went wrong' message. Checking subscriptions in my Google account indicates that I need to go back to the app to confirm the purchase but then I'm faced with the same cyclical error. More worryingly I now have a £59.99 pending on my credit card! Ive since tried with a fresh Google account, and have noticed that when going to pay for it with Google pay it says that I'm not eligible for the free trial - is it connecting all the Google accounts on my device so that I can only get the free trial once?! I've given up - hopefully the pending transactions later fail or it's been an expensive experiment!

I'm having the exact same issue myself, I've never had the free trial before either.Teppic said:

I think I'm there! I wasn't going to post until I'd seen the actual qualifying but, touch wood, I've got it working OK on phone and Fire stick. Lots of things, including me being not particularly technical, made it more complex than it needed to be. Every step seemed to be difficult, though sometimes I should have just gone for it and not worried so much. Several instalations / deletions and moves about the world. I went monthly in case it didn't work, frustrating as it now works. But only from my holiday home, here in Portugal. Didn't work when in New Jersey or Austrailia, though that may have been muppetry on my part.
Thanks everyone!

I had "restore purchase" several times. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times and moved about the world got there in the end. Portugal good for me, for some reason. Since the "restore purchase" guide says to contact F1 help I spent some time perfecting my American accent but got there in the end. Sorry I can't be more specific than that. Google pay policy, by the way, is "usually" to refund if asked within 48 hours so you can apply for a refund if needed. I did after one of the remove and reinstalls and frustration lead me to pay twice...

So I’m a simpleton but by coincidence I’ve been been in Portugal this weekend and I’ve signed up to the £59.99 annual subscription. Will I be able to log in when I’m back in the UK, or will I need a VPN pointing at Portugal?
I can tell you that both Portugal and USA VPN's work in the UK with Express VPN, but USA works best for me. BobToc said:

You will need a VPN pointing at a country that has F1TV Pro if you want access to live streaming. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Portugal, but if you don’t use a VPN in the UK you will not have access to live streaming.Duke Caboom said:

I've tried during fp3 and it allowed the restore purchase to work and could see the latter part of fp3.Google pay policy, by the way, is "usually" to refund if asked within 48 hours so you can apply for a refund if needed. Seems to be mostly working for me. I set up a Surfshark account (note, cheaper price for this by using a freebie VPN set to USA when setting up the Surfshark subscription!) before setting up the F1TV Pro subscription.
Only problem is that casting won't work from the F1TV app. It displays the "ready to cast" screen on my TV but doesn't get any further. No problems casting from other apps such as YouTube whilst connected via Surfshark, and I've tried via both Android phone and iPad with the same result.
