I’d say the sensor was probably not working, but we need a side pit wall camera like Moto GP.
Well they covered this during the race and Ted again confirmed what the official statement was.Vettle moves, he admitted it was his error but he didn’t move past the white line which wasn’t enough to trigger the sensor.
That’s fair isn’t it?
The stewards can’t really do anything right can they. ‘Too strict/too lenient’
Here’s the official line..
No mention of the track sensor?
We now have tolerance it would seem, where before I’m sure we had a penalty previously for anticipating the lights (as human reaction times are factored in too).
& they had to rely on the onboard GPS transponder.
I’m in favour of the Moto GP system, it’s hard but fair for the field.
Seb gained no advantage but give these guys an inch...
Anyone know what's happened to Norris with Fantasy F1.
Max doesn't finish -4 points
Norris does finish -3 points.
It can't be done on position lost because Max lost them all, the actual Fantasy F1 site must be updated by Crofty, it's as awful as he is.
Sensible from stewards, but I remember team radio, Ferrari telling Charles to come in repeatedly and Charles saying "no I'll stay out longer"

"and then by telling the driver to remain out for an additional lap after telling the race director otherwise"
I'm guessing that's why the race director didn't feel the need to get the flag out. Very naughty and quite a light punishment considering what could have been.
Still can't get my head around Albon not being investigated though...

I'm beginning to grow a little tired of LeClerc. He's obviously an extremely talented driver and no doubt a nice fella, but the shine is starting to wear off a little with me. Far too much whining in previous races and today driving around the track at full speed whilst spraying parts of his car all over the circuit and other drivers. Not really on, especially since the contact was of his own making.
Not really sure how I feel about Vettel's jump start.

My Sky box didn't record qualifying but just watched the race. Now did I watch the same race because I'm sure I saw Perez crash on the last lap, in which case why is he still listed as 9th ahead of Hulkenberg and Stroll who were all in the same pack racing each and passed him when he crashed?

You can even see Hulkenberg pass him in the background in this video clip. https://www.formula1.com/en/video/2019/10/Japanese...

They accidentally ended the race a lap early, system error I think.https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/2019/race...

Has anyone worked out the WDC permutations yet?
64 point gap with 104 points available
If Bottas manages 4 first places and fastest laps, Hamilton needs to finish in at least fifth place at each race.
If Hamilton has a DNF in one of those races, then he needs two thirds and a fourth in the other three races.
If Bottas is only able to manage second places (but still achieves fastest laps) Hamilton needs three 8th place finishes.
So while it's not over, it is no longer enough for Bottas to win all the remaining races; he also really needs the resurgent Ferraris to somehow not be able to beat him but keep Hamilton behind them and Hamilton to have a DNF.
I think it's beyond even Mercedes strategy team to achieve that result.

If it was the other way round Ferrari would manage it!!!64 point gap with 104 points available

Wow, that's some high speed slalom action!https://reddit.app.link/kvk6ad3EK0
If Renault are found to be mapping their brake bias wouldn't that be a pretty big deal? Not only because it's outright cheating, but also because getting beaten by your own customer team looks worse than ever if they managed it while you were cheating!
If it's true, how embarrassing..
