I dont understand what the perceived benefit of being slightly out of position laterally is.
No advantage I'd imagine but you have to draw the line somewhere

How are you enjoying your Hamilton duvet cover? hehe
Don’t think you’ve ever seen me say anything nice about Hamilton

Watching Sky, sound turned off, Radio 5 Live, F1live.net, bladder emptied: I'm ready for the racing!
Thought I'd try that this race, but my five live radio is about 10-20 secs behind the tv, which is a bit irritating (maybe less irritating that that tt Croft mind you).
The fix for that, is to pause the TV for as long as it takes to get them in sync.

Same here. I know it's the law etc, but it's still annoying. Fred took the news well though.

I do agree with there being no benefit but this is the most argumentative sport in the world. That's your grid box, penalty if you're outside it seems the most sensible thing.

I'm only on cheapo NowTV, so can't pause it.

MV 11. Thought he'd be higher by now. Looking after tyres? Surely not.

There doesn't need to be a perceived benefit - if he's out of position at all, it's a penalty, full stop. It's for the same reason that if a driver goes off track during qualifying, their lap time is always deleted. By removing the judgement call about perceived benefits, it removes any risk of the stewards being accused of bias.

Nando keeping up nicely with Perez is a surprise. Assume Perez is trying to back Nando up, or at least not let him gallop away from Max so quickly.
