I think there is something whiffy about this story.
Why get pissy now ? why not halfway through the season ?

Last time all this was going on Lotus admitted he hadn't had bonus payments but said he would be getting paid.

I reckon its got more to do with the race in India than pay.
Since Kimi's announcement that he would be going to Ferrari Lotus has at times been acting very juvenile. Lopez said that Kimi was only after the cash. And Permane has been dishing out some very snide remarks, when Kimi makes the podium it was because he was lucky, when Kimi was 3rd in Singapore Permane said that he has never been so annoyed at a podium in his life. Permane screaming at him on the radio was properly the final straw, why do have to put with such treatment if you aren't getting paid?

F1 has generally been very safe, but Kimi still injured his back in Singapore, there is always still some risks. It just might not be worth the risk and juvenile treatment.

Kimi's back pay has to put a big downer on anyone thinking of investing in Lotus F1.

"Great chaps, so what are you going to do with my £100m?"
"Well, we owe £14m of it to that guy who drives for Ferrari."

Why do you think that? It's a known cost and risk throughout due diligence, not a surprise risk/unexpected payment, will already be factored into the valuation.

With the championship all done and dusted, I guess there's now no incentive left for Kimi to keep working for no pay.
I'm sure he doesn't need the cash but according to the Beeb he's on £42k per point so he could boost his salary by £1m+ over last 2 races.

Yeah fine, so why get pissed off now ? bit late is it not ?

Tinfoil hat firmly in place, but Kimi is leaving a team trying to get 2nd or 3rd in the WCC, as is the team he's joining who just happen to be under a lot of pressure... just saying...

On Sky coverage they were saying that due to cashflow drivers often don't get paid until season end and the teams receive their money from CVC. They even said that the same thing happened with kimi last year and effectively he gets paid a year in arrears.

Seems to be lots of fuss being made of this.

and we're off for Q1

PDR, the first car out. Commentators saying the stewards will take action of you leave the track especially the last 2 corners. Rosberg leaves track twice during his fastest lap. Hamilton not happy with his helmet.

Interesting little insight into why RedBull are so far ahead of everyone else - using the softs in Q1 saving a new set of the better meds for the race.
They are really on top of their game at the moment.

Watching Sky F1 online. Dunno why but I like Abu Dhabi.

Track limits are going to play a big part over this qualy session for sure. I can see a few having their times removed.

Rosberg again at least twice off the track when setting the fastest time. Looks like the stewards arent going to do anything...
