I can't see JB bothering to race in any other formula when he leaves McLaren in 2015 (or possibly 2016). I guess there's an outside possibility that he might race for McLaren themselves in WEC, but he doesn't strike me as having the fire, nor needing the ego massage of accepting an offer from a top ranking WEC team.

And he is astute enough to realise that DTM requires some special skills that to date, no ex F1 driver has been able to grasp.
But interestingly a current F1 driver succeeded at DTM...

Do you think Perez must be kicking himself for betraying the prancing horse ?

The logical end game for Button is surely on the BBC isn't it?

If they bother with any worthwhile coverage by then.

He's doing that now. I would imagine there's only so many of those you can do per year.

If it were me I would take up a bit of gentle yoga, followed by a nice lunch, a snooze in the afternoon in a nice warm place. I'd carry round a piccy of all my money just to remind myself of how fortunate I had been.

So, who is going to have a problem with having a "Kevin" driving for McLaren?

GSK are selling their drink brands and are concentrating on pure pharmaceutical products, so I doubt they have any need for sponsorship in F1 anymore
Fwiw gsk consumer still exists. My comment on suntory relates to their beverage businesses....

Did Ferrari say he wasn't ready for a top drive yet? While he arguably hasn't actually had one I suppose they may well have been correct.

No confirmed replacement, so wacky idea of the day:

Hulk (nothing yet for next year) or PDR to McLaren on a 1 year contract with Kevin farmed out to Sauber/FI to see if he's the 'real deal'. Loads of options for 2015......

I think McLaren have made a mistake. Perez did a pretty good job this year IMO, given how poor the car was. They should have given him another year.

Never felt more sorry for an F1 driver who is asked to leave. He never had the chance to shine in this years car, and I don't think he did any better or worse than Button. Hamilton maybe could've got them a podium with this car, but did they really expect Perez to be on that level?

Magnussen had better outclass Button, otherwise this is a mistake. Poor bloke, he hasn't been speaking to other teams either.

He's 30pts worse than JB so far. Don't know why they signed him tbh.

Hmm, to me 30 doesn't seem too bad over 17 races and in a new team. Though if the Hulk was available last year, maybe they should've signed him instead.
