Anyway to watch this without Sky, legitimately?

I thought there was a PPV type thing?
Are you the UK? Just be aware of the timings if you do pay for a NowTV pass:

Race Sun 0530

I thought it was £6.99 per day and hence to get Qualifying and the Race you'd need to time it nicely ...
There is normally a deal of £10.99 for 7 days, so the timing can be less crucial and you get to watch a bunch of the other buildup/analysis shows, plus the odd interesting documentary.

I actually think that, wish the pressure of pole position off his shoulders, Hamilton will make a good start and it will be busines as usual at the front

I'm quite surprised we haven't had that on PH yet, to be honest. biggrin

Wasn't he somewhere around 5th place when he was involved in errr mullering his gearbox last race? Time he figures out which buttons to press and which not to press he will be fighting the Manors or err the
McLarens.

Thanks, do you know if I buy a day pass at £6.99 (not interested in quali), I will be able to somehow record it on my BT box so I dont have to get up at half 5.

Indeed, but we've had the timeworn joke about Räikkönen, the debate on Hamilton's glasses, and the delight at his getting a grid penalty so being Pistonhead's F1 thread I'm sure it won't be long. rolleyes

I think it's a shame that, even with a five grid penalty, you know he's still going to be on the podium and might yet win. I loved his race at Silverstone in 2014 when he screwed up twice and just chewed his way through the grid, but I think this will be a much duller affair.

If they can avoid screwing up their strategy and can actually get their cars to the end of the race without something blowing up, I can imagine at least one, possibly even both, Ferraris finishing ahead of him.

Heard on Radio 2 that Hamilton said they split the bill 17 ways.

There's 18 in the photo, so who didn't pay?

Nico Hulkenburg - typical German fashion sense.

Alonso cleared to race.

Watching FP2, Ted going on about the six element front wings as being 'bad' for following closely... He has no idea, does he?

Practice two looked good as Ferrari seem to have genuine pace....... but how many times have we said that before only for Merc to find another half a second somewhere....

Still I hope it doesn't rain in qualifying as I would rather see what looks to be a genuine 4 way fight for pole, rather than a rain induced lucky dip of who gets out at the right time on the right tyre.

Worrying for McLaren - when two drivers times are that close it's obvious the limiting factor is the car, not the driver, and they are still 2 seconds off the lead pace frown

Bad marks to Hami for not slipping the waiter his card and pulling status as WDC IMO :-)

I wonder whether Kimi has proper pace in this years Ferrari, or if he's still missing few tenths compared to Vettel. I'd love to see him get a bit more comfortable in the car just for the sake of close racing*.

*If, of course, Ferrari let that happen. I like to think that because it's so early in the season they'll hold off choosing a clear number one driver. Maybe that's naive though.
