You honestly still think the Williams is a midfield car? Come on Merc have given them something in return for helping out with Bottas and it's made the Williams fast. Its there to see, I called it and can't wait for it to be proven come Australia....
I know testing means pretty much jack all but then many are saying McLaren are finished already, so it means something and Williams are FAST and reliable.
So hang on - It was Lance Stroll's daddy single handedly not so long ago (with his 11% cash injection)....now its Mercedes? You are moving the goal posts...is it because you have now realised the Strolls don't double the Williams budget? I know testing means pretty much jack all but then many are saying McLaren are finished already, so it means something and Williams are FAST and reliable.
And do you believe the Williams will be up with Mercedes Ferrari and Red Bull? Times all set on soft tyres on shortish runs.... I say Ferrari and Mercedes are still out front, and Red Bull must be bluffing or holding back. And in my estimation in a field of 10 - 4th is definitely mid field.
If you are right I will hold my hands up.
But it will not be due entirely to your new worst enemies dad.

Mercedes will be having words with Bottas for letting the cat out of the bag with that fast lap.
especially & worryingly so, if the time difference between the soft's/super soft's is only 0.6/0.7s ...even more so if Lewis is the quicker of the pair (which you'd have to assume at this stage of Bottas joining)angrymoby said:

The lateness of the braking has just blown my mind. These cars look so different to drive from last year's.thegreenhell said:

I've got a horrible feeling we may be back to 2014 levels of dominance

But once again - we are all assuming that the other teams are pushing like fk. And Mercedes just aren't. It may be that a Ferrari on board looks just the same, or a Williams one.
We don't know.
The new regulations have certainly produced a hell of jump.

OK to repeat... Williams I believe will have a better package from Merc than say Force India due in part to the Bottas deal...
I have said in the past that yes Stroll Snr has given Williams a lot of funds not just cash for his kid to race but also paying for sims etc... I said that in first year of the Martini deal MARTINI paid £15 million to Williams and that Stroll snr paid £20 million for his kid to drive...so £20 mill in F1 is still a tidy sum...
We shall see come Oz but testing was good for Williams regardless of how pointless the times may seem and it means something...just ask McLaren and Alonso...
Also it wasn't all that long ago that Williams were getting poduims with the Merc engine.....
Also a few are now saying how fast Williams look.... i may just be right, add to that if RBR have engine issues Williams are a shoe in for 3 best team...
But really its a bit of fun to lighten up another dull Merc white wash by seeing how Williams fair in 2017....I'm sorry you chose to get so angry about it and vent your spittle flecked rants at me for daring to suggest Williams might be a dark horse for reasons I've outlined....

Not allowed by the FIA, all engines must be identical for each spec release for all the teams supplied.OK to repeat... Williams I believe will have a better package from Merc than say Force India due in part to the Bottas deal...
The only time they can be different is when one team is on a newer spec due to changing one of the 4 allocated engines early, as was the case when Hamilton had to replace his blown engine, so he got the new spec earlier than planned for.
Telling people they are thick when you don't even know the basic rules of the sport is a bit off the mark.

That along with the tyres sounding like they are indestructable it seems like 2017 is going to be a bit of a procession fest.

That's the fastest time of 2017 and he looks so comfortable it's frightening! Not hussling it anywhere, no oversteer at all, barely corrects the steering ever.

Braking later and cornering faster.... Well done to everyone in F1 for almost guaranteeing sod all overtaking this year. That along with the tyres sounding like they are indestructable it seems like 2017 is going to be a bit of a procession fest.
