Best modern track?
Seems to actually test the drivers more than many.
Temperatures are way down since the GP has been moved to earlier in the season.
This could make big difference.
It's not a classic track in the sense of having any stand out corners but it does seem to have some good ingredients for dishing out the drama. 90 degree corners with walls in close proximity. Long straight is a mixed blessing but has seen some great multi car action into turn 1. And the bit around the castle is quite a cool sight. I really like it. Exactly. The kinks before the main straight are impressive especially flat.
Think this GP could be even more exciting than China
The safety car driver better make sure he is ready for a busy day.

It's unusual for Ferrari to be struggling with tyres so much. It should come around as more rubber gets put down, but it seems a case of any quick lap from Vettel is a 1 in 10 job at the moment rather than being consistent. When it's in the zone, it's a well sorted bit of kit, but dialing it in seems more tricky this weekend thus far.
I’m assuming Vettel’s lap had some sort of issue? Only just turned practice 2 on so didn’t see it, but did the 2 Mercs have issues also or are they just off the pace compared to the Red Bulls?
Would be good to see Ricciardo get another win this weekend, get right back into the title fight.

The vast majority of Vettel's laps were riddled with brake lockups (causing aborted laps of very off-pace ones). Most are onto long runs in FP2 now so wouldn't expect the pecking order to change much.Would be good to see Ricciardo get another win this weekend, get right back into the title fight.
The 'Bulls looked quick again, but then they looked quick last year too...before the various party modes got turned on.
It's a pleasure to watch Alonso drag that lazy ass McLaren around this track. Not.

It's unbelievable that the Toro Rosso "even without a low downforce rear wing" are fastest in a straight line.
Very early in the weekend but that's impressive.
Eh? It looked very skinny to me, almost as skinny as the RB. No matter, all will be revealed tomorrow.Very early in the weekend but that's impressive.

Is anyone else finding the halo head up display graphic a bit annoying ?
I thought that it was quite a good innovation and certainly much better than looking at the Halo.Would have liked the tacho overlaid as well, but you can’t have everything.
On Kimi’s car, it was interesting to see that, at a certain corner, one trigger initiated a change down from top to 3rd.
