Why is that question poignant?
I'm gonna guess that the Deuce meant to type 'pertinent'.

There was never any doubt he was basically in one piece and 'OK'. So whilst it's good that he's returned home and the doctors are all happy with his results - the more poignant question of whether or not this will affect his performance in the car remains unanswered.

But not for long. Less than 4 weeks until pre-season, which will be an intense and truncated 3 days of driving. If he can do that with no issues then I'd say he's totally in the clear regards this cycling mishap. Other than the blokes car he ran in to probably being a bit grumpy about it smile
Why is that question poignant?
Will a recent accident affect his performance as a driver... That's fairly poignant given his much lauded return to F1 isn't it?

Pedant hat on

Poignant is something that gives a sense of sadness, pain or regret.

Pedant hat off smile

Did we ever get to find out what happened when he passed out in the first hybrid McLaren test?

Nope.

My 2ps worth it was something like this incident (no one injured just a broken car and the guy in the clip made a full recovery)

Yeh, Ron put in 1.21 GW in and sent him to 2015 wink (yeh ha Marty McFly)..

In all seriousness he did wake up after a 600 watt electrical injection from the Honda PU, speaking Italian when he woke up.

Others say he ‘blacked’ out why driving from a former concussion.

Others say one of the greatest drivers in the world was caught in a cross wind.

He was zapped internally by the PU is the answer.

I’m no Alonso fan, but Mc Honda was 2/3 years to early to be racing.

I suppose I'd be happy to switch sides on the basis that it would be less of an argument when I wanted motorsport on the big TV in the lounge.

On the other hand, I fear certain other activities might make my eyes water..

On balance I won't be switching this year. Mrs Deuce is fairly reasonable and makes a fair roast dinner of a Sunday. I'll keep you all updated if the situation should change, I know you're all interested wink
