Jackie Stewart looking bitter as fk.
Standard look for him once he realised that Lewis was going to surpass his three titles.
Miserable tartan ...
never like this in his day.Standard look for him once he realised that Lewis was going to surpass his three titles.
Miserable tartan ...
I have a lot of respect for him s a driver and for what he did to make the sport safer but FFS man Lewis is by far a better driver give it up.

Quick straw poll. I might well be an old fart about to enter my forties, but I know plenty of teens and twenty-odd year olds.
I can't think of a single one who would see a celebrity voice message from Will Smith and the sort of DJ you see conducting a hundred German robot dancers on the slopes of Val d'Isere and think, "hey, F1's cool now!"
My twelve and eight year old boys were ripping the piss out of the Will Smith message. Though in fairness, the 'doing it exactly how I taught you' bit was quite funny.I can't think of a single one who would see a celebrity voice message from Will Smith and the sort of DJ you see conducting a hundred German robot dancers on the slopes of Val d'Isere and think, "hey, F1's cool now!"

To be fair to Stewart he comes from an era when you would probably die before you strung too many championships together.
But anyway, fantastic achievement for Lewis. He’s now entered the Pantheon of racing greats.
Although I think Fangio was from the generation before Stewart ... however he still saw far too many drivers die and hence his effortless push to improve safety at races. But anyway, fantastic achievement for Lewis. He’s now entered the Pantheon of racing greats.
Well done to Hamilton, a fantastic achievement and as you say one of the all time greats.
I don't get comparing generations of drivers could Fangio ever understand the technical side of driving that a whole different sport on its own.
The bravery of the early drivers is without doubt unmatched and equally their skill levels driving those monsters on dodgy track is unrivalled.
But Lewis and Seb's generation are complete athletes , Drivers, engineers and so much more. I think they all have incredible driving skills but todays drivers are just so special

Absolutely. I can't see any of the current drivers saying, "In that? No roll cage? No harness? No HANS? No Helmet? No fireproofs? Tracks with hay bales? 180mph?........yeah ok" any more than I can see Fangio, Nuvolari or Ascari saying, "Laptops? 3 hours a day in the gym? Simulators? - Yeah, no problem".The bravery of the early drivers is without doubt unmatched and equally their skill levels driving those monsters on dodgy track is unrivalled.

I suspect the step backwards would be harder than the step forwards though.

Complete different times.
And awkard to the Max that Hamilton get's so much praise when his car is on a different planet compared to the rest of the field.
For the fifth year in a row…

Not sure which planet you’ve been on but the fez and Mercedes have been evenly matched this year. I also find it hilarious you say the merc has been on a different planet this year on the very same day it gets lapped by a red bull....Complete different times.

You just watched a race where the Ferrari and Red Bull was faster.Complete different times.

The Mercedes hasn't been the best car at a lot of races this year, Vettel threw a lot of potential big points away this year, including wins, did your bitterness cloud that fact?
Give credit where its due, Hamilton drove a very good championship season whilst under a lot of pressure from the other 4 time world champion in a very good car. It was Vettel that cracked, multiple times.
