Lewis screwed up I'm afraid. For someone of his profile he should have known better.
Its just an illustration of the vocabulary he has developed with his main circle of friends, who are American. The people he mixes with most away from work will have the sort of background where that statement will come up in conversation to describe where they grew up.It was a silly thing to say and came out without any thought at the time, no doubt he regrets it.

Sky sports F1 today, a run through each one of Lewis Hamilton championships.
First one is JUST coming to an end. That was without a doubt a season that will be made into a holllywod movie.
I don't think it would be possible to make a film of 2008 alone when there is so much (largely non-racing) material from 2007 as well.First one is JUST coming to an end. That was without a doubt a season that will be made into a holllywod movie.
A good movie requires an engaging central character, besides stuff happening.
It would be a challenge for the screenwriters to remain authentic to Hamilton's character while delivering a compelling narrative arc.
As Romesh Ranganathan recently said "Lewis Hamilton doesn't have a personality"
The fact that Piers Morgan tried jumping into Hamilton's defence says enough really.
Meanwhile, Hamilton has proved he can drive fast in a fast car.

What a load of rubbish. Everybody has a personality, whether you happen like it or not. As it happens I think Lewis comes across as a 'pretty good chap' from what I have seen, such as the support to Billy monger and charitable support he carries out. Everybody can say something 'not quite PC' on occasion, but it does not particularly detract from their personality. It would be a challenge for the screenwriters to remain authentic to Hamilton's character while delivering a compelling narrative arc.

My accountant at PWC does not seem to have a personality either. At least he hasn't revealed one yet in 16 years, even when tipsy !
Time will tell...

Who? Some minor tv presenter trying to gain some points? It would be a challenge for the screenwriters to remain authentic to Hamilton's character while delivering a compelling narrative arc.

How can Lewis prove the council bit?
When my parents divorced me and my mum ended up in a st hole council estate in Huddersfield.
Large swathes, like Stevenage of Huddersfield are slums. You wouldnt want to park your car there.
Definition:
"a squalid and overcrowded urban street or district inhabited by very poor people"
Yep

Sorry, but as much as I admire Lewis there are plenty of others whose lives would make more interesting movies especially the guys from the 50s,60s and 70s such as Hill, Hawthorn, Fangio, Nuvolari, Moss, Von Tripps, Stewart, Hunt, Lauda, Clark, Rhindt etc.
And the here's the biggest of all... Schumacher.... the true story behind the scenes at Benetton and early days at Ferrari would be amazing viewing.
I realize you left some drivers out in the interest of brevity but surely we cannot forget John Surtees! And the here's the biggest of all... Schumacher.... the true story behind the scenes at Benetton and early days at Ferrari would be amazing viewing.

No Knighthood then.
Twiggy got one though.
Amazing that she waited from the 60's to get hers yet Mrs Beckham gets a gong for fashion after just a few years of loss making. I could never understand why Andy Murray was knighted for winning Wimbledon on the same day that Lewis Hamilton broke records for multiple wins at Silverstone. Murray was congratulated in Parliament after his win, but not Lewis. I complained about it to my MP. Motor sport supports the UK taxman massively more than tennis. Twiggy got one though.
I don't think Motor Sport gets the recognition it deserves. I believe Ron Dennis, Adrian Newey and Gordon Murray deserve knighthoods. Was there a reason for John Surtees never receiving a knighthood?
