I don't think anyone has ever mentioned Jackie Stewart in the same breath as Senna or Prost, never mind Hamilton.
Although I raised this issue, and am disappointed by this and some other comments, I absolutely would and always do include him at the very top. It's hard to think of a driver with more natural talent. He won 3 world championships for Ken Tyrrell, ie no Ferrari, no Lotus, Brabham, McLaren etc, and not much was won for Ken Tyrrell before or since.
Yes, I think Stewart was generally recognised as the best of his era.

Stewart was an exceptional driver and displayed many great qualities in his pursuit of safety in F1.

Unfortunately he has displayed as many rather poorer qualities in some of his behaviour since.

Indeed.

ETA - perhaps we’re doing Stewart a disservice in that assumption. Maybe he would feel the same about any British driver who comprehensively trumped his championship tally and also got a knighthood. We'll never know and perhaps should give him the benefit of the doubt on that score.

However he’s clearly quite bitter towards Hamilton for one reason or another. Or maybe more than one reason…

He also says -

"I’m sure he’ll be very successful because he’s been earning a huge amount of money — rightfully so because he’s been the best of his time. Lewis is in that group of the Ayrton Sennas and the Alain Prosts — or even the Jackie Stewarts maybe."

So it’s not all bad mouthing from JYS. It’s simply selective quoting for click bait.
Not sure why he even needs to keep talking about hamilton, never seems to have much good to say.

Who cares? Why are people so obsessed with high net-worth individuals domiciling in lower-tax countries?

Before Hamilton I think he was widely regarded as the best ever British driver, most people don't like being surpassed like that.

He was similar in many ways to both Prost and Senna. All three won around 25% of their races. All three were thinkers first. All three upset the powers that be in F1.

I've seen all three race. I've followed the sport since 1966, for years as a nerd, only changing when Senna died to an extent. I think the term GOAT is nonsensical, but there's not a cigarette paper between them as drivers.

Unless you are in the top 3% of UK taxpayers then Lewis pays more UK tax than either you or me. As well as paying tax in at least a dozen other countries.

Indeed but then as JYS has lived in the UK since 1996, the point is moot anyway.

Quite. He never passes up an opportunity to say something negative about Hamilton, and when he does say something seemingly positive it is clearly either through gritted teeth or else damning with faint praise.

Jackie has always dished out his opinion here is Senna on the receiving end, he handled it very well.
