Look at the bitterness and hatred on his face!
A win for Alonso's PR dept then. No, but seriously, nice pic and good that this hasn't developed into a public feud.

He doesn’t stoke me as someone who suffers fuqwhittery, which would include the potential emotional baggage a new driver is bringing into the team.

LH is saying today after FP1 for the Dutch GP that”if we all had the same car”. Lewis, it might have slipped your attention that many of the drivers on the F1 grids over the last few years have been saying the same.

What did he say, exactly?Very little to quarrel with there. It's one of the main features of F1, as we all know. It's fascinating that different teams build different cars from scratch, but by definition, significant performance differences will always result. As has often been pointed out, the best drivers do by and large end up in the best cars though.
Luckily we also have the chance to look back at F1 drivers' pre-F1 careers, to see how they got on in equal machinery in F2/GP2, F3, etc.

This is true, however we still end up coming up with speculation regarding how tough the competition might have been in any particular year, plus the current career expectation for an F1 driver is way longer than it has ever been, leading to some drivers last experience of having an "equal" car (good or bad) being way over a decade ago.mat205125 said:

I think, in the interests of clarity, it's best to quote entirely what Lewis said rather than a selective part.....Lewis Hamilton said:
I mean the car does limit us. I think for anyone that’s further back in the order they are limited by the machinery they have.
If we all had the same car, no matter which one it was, you would see a better reflection of each driver, but that’s obviously not the case.

It is unique to Hamilton though (the criticism). There was a massive vanity fair shoot involving many drivers earlier in the year with some very out there styles. Not a peep on here.
I think the clue there is in the word 'photoshoot'.As in, they may have been told what to wear...
