I think you will find that F1 is boring at the moment due to the poor job Mclaren and Ferrari have done, and the brilliant work of the Red Bull team! Nothing to do with manual gearboxes or smaller wings laughlaugh

You guys going to be ok crying your eyes out over it?

If that were remotely true then RBR, having made a brilliant job of it would be lapping the field a couple of times each race but even they are not capable of racing anywhere near flat out after qualifying.

Are you saying that you would be happy seeing all them cruise around at 80% as long as there were 6 cars on the grid of similar ability?

The borefest has little to do with RBR having the best car, or any technical aspects of the cars. It is to do with inadequate tyres that mean F1 is not about racing but more of a nursing exercise than ever before. Much, much more than ever before.

This is just plain wrong.

why push 100% and risk spinning off, crashing or breaking your car if you don't need to.

Also if you think tyre saving is boring. Wait until you get fuel saving...

I think that has oversimplified it somewhat. Nursing hasn't really been a problem recent races; we've seen lots of 1-stop and 2-stop races rather than the 3-4 stop doom-mongering at the start of the year.

Vettel has really 'broken' the rest of the drivers, psychologically. They don't know think they can beat him anymore so they don't try. They've lost confidence and they are just hanging out for the end of the season to hope it's not the same next year.

The engineers might even be nursing their wounds further after the 'strategic' swap to last years tyres backfired and favoured RBR even further. They don't know what to do to beat RBR anymore so they've got nothing.

As usual a situation like this is a combination of many contributing factors not one.

Although I understand it's nice to have one silver bullet of blame if that makes you feel more comfortable.

Mentioning SKY.

Seen in Motorsport News that SKY have 6 3/4 hours programme showing GP in Brazil.

WTF do they need that long to show 2 hour max race ?

I will probably watch first 5 minutes of race on BBC,Vettel will have 2 second lead

end of lap 1 and guess the rest.....sleep
Just managed to stay awake through quali......Perry giving some chat back to Jordan.....more of Sutil's lady.....outcome, same old, same old.
Everyone talking up JEV, but it didn't happen for him. I would like to say that I can't wait until tomorrow, but then my nose would grow !!

I thought it was one if the best races this year. The lack of dry practice really mixed it up and gave some great fights!

It wasn't mixed up much with the usual faces on the first 3 rows of grid.

The Torro Rosso's were higher up than usual but not much difference really.....smile

It's James Allen I feel sorry for. Must be really difficult trying to write a blog that 'tells it like it is' whilst simultaneously trying to punt his round-up of the season book and pretend that something worth reading about happened...

What worries me is that Vettel could potentially win every single race for the next 10 years, barring the odd few where he's sidelined through mechanical failure.

It struck me yesterday that possibly the reason why Hamilton often looks glum in interviews these days is because he's thinking "Thank God I came into F1 just after the end of the Schumacher era - gives the rest of us a chance of winning some championships......Oh, st."

I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened at all.

Watching sky f1 segment on the guy responsible for catching the f1 riuke breakers was really eye opening to say the least , it showed how EASY it really is to bend the rules and not get caught

ive watched F1 for years and after most if not nearly all races im left thinking, fk that was ste.

sure there will be f1 purists that say its great, oh think about all the work that goes on behind the scenes etc how hard it is to catch that person etc.

but its just no fun watching vettle break away after 3 laps never to be seen again then come on the radio crying saying he loves everyone.

I dont mind kers but drs is running it a bit for me, theres just no, "fk it ill fling it up inside here and hope for the best" anymore. the overtakes are manufactured, the circuits are crap, wide with huge run off areas.

since it went to sky ive watched it but with less interest now im not even bothered about it.

the only thing is that it makes you feel like your missing out by not watching it with the advert the slots in the news etc. you get sucked in by the glamour. its just never lives up to it.

i have no idea how to fix it

less down force
different tyres
re-fueling
kitty litter everywhere
only wet races!!!!!
etc

i have no idea how to make it interesting but as it stands its just not.

Did you hear interviews with Whitmarsh and Button on Saturday? They'd definitely packed it in for the year.

I'm not saying they won't race but if they don't really believe they can beat Vettel then they might not expend every effort or take risk to beat him.

They are human and have emotions, not robots.
