A Cosworth badged as a GM/Cadillac? Bit like putting a Chevy engine in your Cobra replica.
Like a Mercedes engine that isn't designed and built in Stuttgart? Perish the thought!

Cosworth have been independent for twenty years, and have done engines for GM in the past. However, Ilmor makes more sense given their long association with GM in Indycar.

What's Andy Cowell up to these days? Surely someone will have spun the rolodex and made a big offer....

Ilmor is not Cosworth.

They have been building racing engines for GM for a long time, their F1 division was sold to Mercedes in 2005, since then they have worked with Honda and built their Indycar engines and helped with the current winning F1 engine. They now make the GM Indycar engines.

Of course Cosworth isn't Ilmor. IIRC it's owned by Gerald Forsythe and Kevin Kalkhoven. I'm sure you know their US motorsport background.

Which company has better credentials to build an F1 spec MGU-K engine is probably open to debate, as is bringing in specific knowledge and expertise. Cowell and Binotto are obvious candidates.

Based on their current relationships and ability, I'd be very surprised if GM didn't use Ilmor.

Another Honda (gp2 engine, gp2) in the making.

2 years after the new regs come in and will be behind the curve no doubt.

I doubt that, it was ilmor that helped fix that GP2 engine.

Ok so who gets Logan’s seat - can’t see it being renewed?

Really? How can he possibly be worth the damage he has caused all season? He's up to about £5m repair bills vs his £800k salary rofl

Surely you would have done it at a recent race, or even this one?

All the talent (many with backers) that we saw yesterday and Logan is the best they can get?

For how long? Seems a reasonable target for Williams

Anything is possible. AM would like a driver with a year or two of experience.

Drugovich took 3 attempts to win his f2 title and not against the strongest of fields imo or a complete routing of the rest of the field.
Id have Mick in there before him or hold out to see if next years f2 winner is decent

Sadly I don’t think Schumacher will get another shot. I say sadly because HAAS is the last team to step up to F1 with, especially the stbox he had to try and drive in his first year. He made mistakes, and didn’t help himself with those around him, but he needed to be in a better team and to have delivered more, as Piastri has.

WEC is hopefully coming into something of a golden era, so hopefully he’ll get a chance to shine there. Although, not sure about Alpine.

F1 will look very different in a few years time. Hopefully Andretti get in and a number of seats open up.

Beaten into 21st place by Lawson who only started 5 races with his only point coming as a result of the disqualification of others. Never took the flag in the top 10 while his team mate scored 27 points and finished 13th.

They must have better options.
