This weeks Indycar podcast covers this storyhttps://www.motorsport.com/indycar/news/mclaren-no...

starting from 49:40
It seems that it's very unlikely to happen and if it does it will be limited to Indy500.

Which completely contradicts what the motorsport article claims that

Honda Performance Development president Art St. Cyr claims HPD has been “operating near maximum capacity” supplying 12 fulltime IndyCar entries this year
Honda simply don't want to be attached to McLaren and Andretti being Honda team will struggle to get a Chevy car unless he does it under an umbrella of some sorts (like the collaboration with Harding Racing).I guess it depends on if Merc have any money the game.
If they do then it's Ocon and Stroll in Racing Point.
If they don't it's Stroll, Perez and Perez's money in Racing Point.
If think Vandornes goose is cooked. Likewise Sirotkin. Neither have anything decent to work with but neither have shown any inclination of faster pace on lesser machinery as the likes of Gasly and Leclerc have.

see, I've had the sky F1 channel on in the background since qually and been vaguely aware of dart throwing bo11ocks, hovercraft riding bo11ocks, then you post this which is news to me. They should be sniffing this st out or what's the point of sky, er, F1.I know Ocon is a merc driver but is he committed to them and if so for how long?
F1 seems divided into RB/fez/merc tiered "camps" right now and the mood is that transition between them is difficult and unlikely, but I see no reason why hass wouldn't be interested in Ocon - he's a solid driver who can bring points - and maybe a route to the upstairs team isn't out the question

Mercedes have money (lots) and engines. They also need a top driver for when Lewis, or Valterie, quits.Perez has money and is not moving forward. Williams will soon be desperately in need of money - as well as a lot of resource management. These two facts must create a neat solution.

would merc pay the kind of pay-driver money Williams are after to secure Ocon a seat though?Perez has money and is not moving forward. Williams will soon be desperately in need of money - as well as a lot of resource management. These two facts must create a neat solution.
It'd be great for Williams to have a properly handy driver but how much are we talking?

Haven't Williams been quite anti the idea of B-teams?
Williams are in survival mode, they prostituted their team for cash and will do whatever it takes to stay afloat.Without the Stroll and Martini money next year and looking to score poorly in this years prize fund they are in even worse shape.
