What odds would you get on Russell taking Bottas’s seat next season. That might worry Gamilton a bit?
Next season, pretty much nil. The one after, it's probably odds on but I don't think it'll particularly worry Hamilton. He'll probably be an eight-times world champion by then and I suspect will relish the chance to spend his last few years pitting himself against someone like Russell. I can't see Russell beating Hamilton for at least a couple of years after he joins the team anyway. He may have (or even better) Hamilton's raw pace, but he doesn't have his experience or knowledge of the team.

Russell’s fit in the car doesn’t look great, he’s talked about the undersized boots which isn’t a big deal and he’s played it down generally but his head looks high in the car and he isn’t that comfortable which will affect him in an 80 lap race.
George’s starts/first laps haven’t been great at Williams
Well he is driving a car designed for two drivers who are 4-5 inches shorter than him George’s starts/first laps haven’t been great at Williams

It must be easier to design a car for two drivers when they are a similar height. Lando and Danny Ric in the McLaren next year will be a big difference too.

Merc wouldn’t do it, as Russell would beat Hamilton and stop him getting the 7th title. It would appear that you’re only allowed to say nice things about Hamilton in this thread though
What the gloater types dont realize is Mercedes took this rare chance to see if thier prospective next big driver was up to it.
Seems he is so they dont need to risk a verstappen anymore when LH finally stops.
As all the Hamilton haters seem to be verstappen boosters they should now realize what has just happened.

Yep! Well, it hasn't quite happened yet but Mercedes obviously went to lengths to test the mettle of their future man in Lewis's absence. A very promising start indeed and if he keeps on and does well this weekend, that is probably going to shut the door on Max. I really like Max but a lot of his appeal is more suitable to the RB brand than it is to MB, and although he's very exciting I think GR is more the sort to nail a WDC one day.Seems he is so they dont need to risk a verstappen anymore when LH finally stops.

Who knew? Mercedes can choose the best drivers for their best car! It's almost as if the best drivers tend to find their way to the best cars on merit - weird...
