Lewis says he’s performing better than ever on a vegan diet and he’s not the only one... it’s the future and as usual, he's ahead of the curve.
He’s also exec producer on a film about this stuff, with Jackie Chan, Arnie, James Cameron, Novak Djokovic and more:

Well... in spite of my previous jokey comments (I love meat, BBQ, rustic food...) I do think that along with the rest of our species' habits, diets should also evolve... He's probably on to something! He’s also exec producer on a film about this stuff, with Jackie Chan, Arnie, James Cameron, Novak Djokovic and more:

What's interesting about Lewis is that he's so trendy and aware - connected to the wider world way beyond F1, yet he shows the traits and performance of someone who lives, breathes and sleeps F1. I suppose that's what could be called a natural talent.
I think we might have to wait quite a long time before another driver quite so complete and built for F1 turns up. Max is insanely talented in so many ways but when you compare him or any other driver to the complete package of LH there is always something lacking. And now I sound like a fanboy, which I really am not - but there comes a point at which any sane person should acknowledge a competitors achievements and talents I think. Even if he apparently has to give up meat and dairy to perform so well

You say ahead of the curve, I'd say just jumping on the bandwagon! Vegan, or vegetarian diets are nothing new and are currently flavour of the month coming on the back of climate change/global warming. He's just tapping into the zeitgeist. He’s also exec producer on a film about this stuff, with Jackie Chan, Arnie, James Cameron, Novak Djokovic and more:

I think calling the focus on global warming "flavour of the month" is pushing it a bit. I think there's every reason to believe it will be flavour of the next few decades at least and consequently the push to reduce beef farming is only going to get stronger. I don't think anyone believes that veganism or even vegetarianism is necessary for the whole world, but it's pretty well accepted that the western world consumes far too much red meat for both environmental and health reasons. Whilst veganism or even vegetarianism is more of a lifestyle choice, there's no realistic argument as an elite athlete (or anyone focused on their health or fitness for that matter) in favour of eating red meat. Well, except taste obviously.

I've never understood this concept: if you're a veggie/vegan (or whatever else you might be) why would you try and copy and emulate the very thing you're avoiding? The old dear is a veggie and she's quite content avoiding all products like veggie sausages/burgers and all of the other pseudo crap that people feel the need to market. Strange bunch.MPC09 said:

I think probably because the burger 'format' works exceptionally well as a fast food/ takeaway product. It's quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive. One does not need silverware.vdn said:

I swear if he told you to eat your firstborn you'd agree it was the best idea ever and he was 'ahead of the curve'!Have you thought of therapy to deal with your, frankly, near stalker-ish obsession?

This is such a hack opinion. Some veggie burgers and sausages are delicious. I would say, if you're prepared to eat who knows what parts of animals that have been mushed up into a slurry and formed into a disc or a cylinder, why would you be against doing the same to vegetables or other protein? Because, you know, it's not the shape that's the problem, it's the bit where the animal is killed.Mr_Thyroid said:

I just find it bizarre that vegans spend ages trying to make stuff look and taste like meat. It's almost as if the human as a species is genetically designed to seek out and eat meat.

It used to be something that took a great deal of energy to get and was a once in a while treat. I know many people who have to have meat with every single meal including breakfast. That's not good for them or the planet but we've evolved into a race where too many only eat potatoes and meat. It's almost as if the human as a species is genetically designed to seek out and eat meat.
