Fairplay to Webber but he went off the track once in the 3rd sector and on the exit of the first turn at the places the FIA said they would enforce track limits....

Its ok, the FIA will fine someone over some doughnuts but when real rules are broken you can do what you want biggrin Just like the dodgy drive through handed to Richie Stanaway in the Porsche Supercup race earlier. Top Job.

Fantastic lap from Webber. Would be nice to see him nick a win before he retires.

Nice to see Kimi back on the pace too... though redbull look unbeatable again.

I was pleased to see Mark match the Pole record for Aussies.

Ooops Lewis. Still, the positions are going to make for a fun race I reckon.

And once more Hulk puts the car higher up than it should really be.

I don't want to agree with everyone else that Mark clearly left the track multiple times. It's just nice seeing him being ahead of Seb.

But if it was reversed, would you want to see the rules enforced?

I think you're misunderstanding what I'm getting at. It's nice to see Mark ahead of Seb.

The rules NEED to be enforced though so if that means Mark loses his pole position then so be it.

Maybe I'm wrong but it looked like Vettel was pretty p'd off after he crossed the line in the onboard shot hehe

Yes it is, Webber used to have the reputation of a 1 lap specialist.

Yep, there was a replay that showed him going off between the 2nd to last and last corner, shown whilst Martin was talking to Horner.

He wasn't the only one by a long chalk mind. If they are serious about track limits the stewards will have to review video of everyones quickest lap and take action as necessary. There seems to be confusion over what exactly is going on - this autosport article says they were warned about T21 (last corner) only : http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/111054

But on the TV they were talking about T19 ? and then two unspecified corners ?

IMHO the FIA have ballsed up again - don't be vague, be exact and keep it simple, i.e. you cross a white line with the whole car you break the rules....

Superb lap from Mark, is this his F1 swansong ?
Lewis claims something broke, certainly the car didn't appear to behave as he expected and got a real wriggle on - looked relieved in the interview.

Kimi seems to like the SWB car better than the LWB.

Dean Stoneman making his single seater come back in Gp3 right now, 3 years out of single seaters, fought cancer against the odds and is P9 on the grid - good effort I reckon.

When have the FIA ever NOT been vague with their rules and rulings on those rules, and leeway for some and not others...

Exactly. They are consistently inconsistent.

Stoneman comes home P6 in the GP3 race, good going clap

So RBR were sandbagging in Q1 and Q2. Good to see Webber on pole but I doubt it will do him any good.

It was Antonio Felix de Costa.
