I saw Clark many times.
In my eyes he is the GOAT.
I'd love to hear more, Stan.In my eyes he is the GOAT.
Envious you got to see the great Clark 'live'. I've seen Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Hamilton, Hakkinen and many others. I'd love to have seen Clark, Moss, and Fangio.
When I first started working in the motor trade Sir Stirling was a customer of ours (for fuel). A great and friendly man. I was privileged to ride beside him at my first track day (a Ferrari one). We were in an old 330GT at Goodwood, probably 1979. It started raining and he said 'The wipers don't work, but I know my way around here, so don't worry'.
A very great man!

Sir Stirling is, without doubt, the finest driver in F1 who never won the WDC.

I don’t know who was advising LH, but announcing that he was leaving for Ferrari at the beginning of a 24 race season has got to be one of the dumbest moves out there. He should have STFU at least until the summer break. My fear is that he’ll be wasted by the incessant comparisons with GR, Sainz, LeClerc, Kimi etc.
The sport is laughing at him and that includes his own team. F1 has zero respect for him, it’s Goat, so it’s going to be one long season of endless ridicule. A proper management team wouldn’t have made such a silly mistake. Oh well.

Are you high?I think LH naively thought he’d have a long send off , like Kimi, Seb & Alonso. As it is he’s in a kind of performance spiral - downward, and soon Mercedes won’t even include him in updates, upgrades and meetings. GR will be flexing as team leader, LH the has been.
It’s a long road ahead. In the old days he’d have jacked it in and sat things out until 2025. All of this is humiliating and not clever - unless he can quickly turn things around.
