Hell of a racing driver and without doubt up there with
Couldn’t care less if he was green or orange, black or white
Utter utter cock off track since he arrived and cannot stomach his bullsh’t
Just my humble opinion
I think he's been absolutely fine off track too, indeed can't think of anything he's said or done that could be really called out. Unlike the other drivers he's a global icon, with no script to follow, only his own instincts, and I think he's done just fine. He doesn't even shag around in the James Hunt/Barry Sheene mould, he's been far, far more devoted to his sport than that. Couldn’t care less if he was green or orange, black or white

For me, it's time everyone stood up & said violence of the sort that led to the death of George Floyd is unacceptable, to say otherwise is tacitly condoning it.
I just don't agree with this. There is st going on around the world all the time. I've no doubt whatsoever that those migrants in Calais have experienced racism, brutality and death throughout their whole journey from wherever in Africa. They're on our doorstep, so why are we so exercised about one poor soul in the US? It makes no sense. It seems to me that people are only so exercised because it's an English speaking black man that has been killed.

I think he's come across generally as being a thoroughly decent person, as well as an extraordinary F1 driver, in the running for the greatest of all time. Some of the vitriol aimed at him here likely says rather more about the writers of the posts than Hamilton, I think.

Brits seems to have this weird obsession with American culture and Americans in general. If this incident happened in the UK, there's no way Americans would have the same energy.paulguitar said:

I don't particularly like his taste in clothing or jewellery and he probably wouldn't like mine. But I've seen nothing from him to warrant the reaction he gets from some people.
If he was white, dressed like an nice middle class white person and listened to middle of the road rock music he wouldn't get any of the grief some on here are giving him.

I'm surprise Lewis feeling so strongly about this did not go and join a march.
Then again, lack of social distancing at these marches could well result in many falling ill with Covid-19.
Different level but last weekend plenty of folk felt strongly enough to head off to parks and beaches with little social distancing. Obviously those marching feel pretty strongly too. Then again, lack of social distancing at these marches could well result in many falling ill with Covid-19.

Hamilton waited a full week for someone other than him to step up with some form of support from the world of F1
& i guarantee that some posters on this thread have spent more time posting & knocking Hamilton, than they have posting on their own social media either condemning those who killed George Floyd or in support of BLM
