Some of you might have seen the tweet about the young McLaren fan with his racing cardboard box..

The Indycar thing is back on, but not solo, they are joining the Schmidt Peterson, who are also switching from Honda to Chevrolet. The cars will be McLaren orange, not Schmidt black/gold, no drivers announced but Schmidt's current drivers are James Hinchcliffe and Marcus Ericsson.

They bought the company 'Audiolab' which was re-branded Tag McLaren Audio. The chap who sits next to me used to work for them.

Bought in ‘97 and rebranded TAG McLaren Audio selling Peter Stevens designed kit; sold on (and back trading as Audiolab) from 2004.

Well of course he's not going to appreciate the things you'd appreciate - he's hardly likely to go mad for a beautifully finished gearshift paddle is he? Just like you wouldn't sit in a cardboard box making brum brum noises. He looked like he was enjoying himself to me. Good on McLaren.

That's epic level scheming!!! I really hope this story makes the netflix cut

Although if he does go, good luck learning any secrets - I'm sure all the Red Bull engineers will be very happy to mislead him "So, Zak... we've found that swapping the throttle and brake peddles makes our drivers 3 tenths faster in the sim, so that's the route we're going next season.."
