When the new tyres wear graphic popped up I thought ‘great’. But then figured it’s probably an estimate based on a Pirelli spreadsheet, or past performance, or something.
Coulthard was dismissive of the ‘ease of overtaking’ thing. Said something along the lines of it being created by people who think F1 is the same as PlayStation racing.
Somewhere there must be information on how the graphics are calculated?
Yep they have reviewed every race Quali and practice for the last 65 yrsCoulthard was dismissive of the ‘ease of overtaking’ thing. Said something along the lines of it being created by people who think F1 is the same as PlayStation racing.

I see the opinions are creeping in to this thread from a few that didn't make the effort to watch live today
I watched ESPN's live coverage which was just a repeat from Sky.So why are my views not valid in your opinion?
Tell me how the rules I posted about jump starts with the car making any movement, makes it look like Ferrari weren't punished today.
How dangerous was that for CLC to be allowed to continue with his car shedding pieces which hit Hamilton...
Your views and the views of anyone watching a recording are quite valid. I for one wasn't getting up specially for this, and I’m glad I took that decision, at the end of the day.
For me this was a race defined by errors. Vettel, Leclerc, Norris, the early lights, Mercedes tactics (though I think that was more a matter of throwing Bottas a bone with no real downside, than anything else) etc.
The actual racing was nothing special or unusual.

I’d say the sensor was probably not working, but we need a side pit wall camera like Moto GP.
Well they covered this during the race and Ted again confirmed what the official statement was.Vettle moves, he admitted it was his error but he didn’t move past the white line which wasn’t enough to trigger the sensor.
That’s fair isn’t it?
The stewards can’t really do anything right can they. ‘Too strict/too lenient’
Here’s the official line..
No mention of the track sensor?
We now have tolerance it would seem, where before I’m sure we had a penalty previously for anticipating the lights (as human reaction times are factored in too).
& they had to rely on the onboard GPS transponder.
I’m in favour of the Moto GP system, it’s hard but fair for the field.
Seb gained no advantage but give these guys an inch...
Lewis Hamilton adjusting the steering as the end plate approaches... superHuman

I saw a twitter video (in car) of Leclerc holding on to his broken mirror whilst driving one handed around 130R! Impressive

Yes - and it shows he stopped completely in a very short distance. I don't think there was any need for a penalty - it totally ruined his start as it was.https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/dhqevb/...

Standing/Grid starts are one of the best bits of the F1 weekend, advantage gained or not, he moved before lights out and well before the green light on the far pit wall so others react on the gas (Max and Bottas).
It has made me wonder if all the electrical sensors were working after they moved all the equipment on Friday from the tent to the garages. (There was a lot of it, Karun did a feature on the paddock walk).
