The number of safety cars in F3 and F2 can't bode well for F1 tomorrow

Monaco just demonstrating yet again that it is entirely unsuitable for car racing.

They have the opportunity in both races to have a grid restart , both times they chose not try and make it interesting

Qualifying is the absolute best part of the Monaco GP - I don't bother watching the race tbh.

Agreed. I love quali in Monaco. tomorrow afternoon I am busy and can't watch, and pleased about that.

I absolutely think they need to keep Monaco but they are going to have to tweek the track a bit somewhere to create a good solid overtaking spot.
Maybe at the end of the start finish straight run the corner a bit further on so its more of a hairpin.

In race chat Antonelli did ok 4th from 4th kept it on the track gained another 5 points. 8 or 10 points tomorrow would be a decent haul i think.

Yes, they should have used the standing start both in F3 and F2. The rolling start is really supposed to be for bad weather, but the RD today obviously thought that it was more likely to end up with another incident.

If you have to have an event at what’s clearly now a totally unsuitable circuit, for historical reasons, then at least take the opportunity to let the drivers overtake.

It's a tricky one. I think the overwhelming factor is that the junior series in Monaco have a near 100% record of an incident following a standing start in recent years, so, given the time constraints to run the race and I suppose the H&S aspect, it's a no brainer to avoid additional standing starts.

I say that as someone that would love to see standing starts as opposed to rolling.. But it is what it is.

I also agree that Monaco needs every chance of an overtake possible, again 'ideally'. But that's a race fan - in commercial terms Monaco needs to do nothing other than exist as a relic on the calendar. Which tbf, I don't mind.

All relatively civilised so far, only Alex Wurz the one car off on the first lap.

Eight winners in eight races for F3 this season, that’s quite the start to the season. Mini with the result today, leading from start to finish.

Antonelli has been looking at Colapinto’s gearbox for the last 20 laps, but doesn’t look close to actually being able to make the move. At this point, it’s a pit stop competition.

Edit: Antonelli, after his pitstop, and Bearman, was good for half a lap.

He’s got some sort of a problem, gearbox possibly? He’s a couple of seconds off the pace and now holding everyone up!

Antonelli finally gets him, with a huge dive into the final corner with three laps to go, after Colapinto locked up into the Rascasse.

O’Sullivan with the mugging at the end, having gambled on not stopping hoping for a safety car, then got into the pit lane only a few seconds before it closed under VSC.
