Happy Birthday Murray Walker!
Discussion
The voice of so many of my memoroes that form what I still like today, not so much f1 and elite racing, but everything else, I still say teh same things at the start of races, daft Murrayisms come into mind frequently.
A true legend and considering he was only art time for a lot of it and a damn successful marketing man, he didnt do bad

"Happy 97th birthday to the legend Murray Walker. Spoke to him in the week, he’s sharp as a pin and, as always, wanted to talk everything F1"

I remember being in the Woodcote stand at a Grand Prix in the 80s; Friday practice (or could even have been Thursday back then ). All quiet between sessions and a huge cheer breaks out. like a Mexican wave. Murray , of course , strolling across the track , camera in tow. A man who is and was universally loved. Of course he got it wrong sometimes , who doesn't ?, but he had a formidable work rate, was a total pro and, best of all , dangerously infectious enthusiasm. Happy birthday indeed.
