Someone I did not know of, but look at the list of cars! Including some famous and most beautiful F1 cars (Eagle).

I'd just like to thank him (for his military service and) some of the most beautiful and successful racing cars.

Unassuming chap, huge input into motor racing, was looking well at GFoS in 2014, so shame to see his passing. Treated shamefully by Chapman at Indy when his 38 won it.

What a beauty.

He had some great ideas on aero too. Using the heat from radiators to create down force, wing supports linked to the suspension so they varied depending on car attitude etc. I still have one of his older books.

My old man worked with him for many years and new him well. A very knowledgeable chap. His book was well worth a read if you're an engineering nerd like me.
