Maserati GranTurismo Sport for Geneva

Revised styling and a touch more power for Maser coupe

These are the first images of the new Maserati GranTurismo Sport, which is due to be unveiled at the Geneva motor show in a couple of weeks.

Replacing Maserati's popular GranTurismo S in its coupe range, the new car adds more than just the word 'port' to the old GranTurismo S.

On the outside there's a new front bumper and headlights (including the ubiquitous DRLs), while at the rear the tail lights have been refreshed. The cabin is reported to have received a few detail changes, too, including a new steering wheel design.

There are tweaks under the skin, too, including an extra 10hp, bringing the 4.7-litre V8 to 460hp. That's all we know for now, but more will no doubt be revealed with the car's public debut in Geneva.

Extremely subtle changes, but then why ruin perfection....

A truly beautiful car. It's definitely aged very well, I'd love to put one of these on my drive - they sound absolutely brilliant.

Still gorgeous but the new grills up front are a step back, it had enough presence without aggressive grills.

It would be perfect if they would shrink it 15%. As much as I love them, they are bloody massive.

They do look lovely in pictures but I think it's one of a fairly small number of cars that looks much worse in the metal - they're just too big and it makes the proportions look all wrong when you see it amongst other traffic.

last time i saw one i loved it biggrin

too big? it's a GT car, not a thoroughbred racer. make it smaller and you can't use the back seats very well or ruin the handling characteristics because the engine will be further forward (that's why the bonnet is so long, to have the engine far back).

My son spent half term being ferried around Zurich in the current model and he can confirm. "It's proper mint."

I think that means they're quite a nice motor.
