Quite apart from the fact that it's still cheaper relative to wages than ten years ago. It's seen a sharp rise 2008-2010, sure, but not exactly unobtainium, is it? How about I share the prices I've paid since March 2011:

I don't know where in the UK you are but where I am 95ron unleaded was 139.9p this morning and it had gone down from 142.3p last week. Quite apart from the fact that it's still cheaper relative to wages than ten years ago. It's seen a sharp rise 2008-2010, sure, but not exactly unobtainium, is it?
