Does bad spelling in an ad put you off calling?

Does bad spelling in an ad put you off a car? This one may have been worth a call but the ad makes me not want to have a conversation with the owner, and they're not typos as he is consistently wrong. Not wishing to sound old, but how did he he make it through school!

I agree that it's off putting though not sure I'd hold it against him when looking at buying.

of course it does.. But you have to put it into perspective and balance it against everything else about the advert.

You never know if they are that unintelligent you might get a bargain!

The spelling mistakes of that advert wouldn't put me off because I wouldn't read the ad. It's all in caps. Presumably, he typed it on an Acorn Electron.

Spelling not so much, if it was txt spk, then I would definitely be put off. I can imagine my brother writing an ad like that, he's dyslexic and not the best with computers , but I wouldn't think twice about buying a car off him.

Yes for me.

Mrs Herbs is dyslexic as is my brother but it's not as they are scribing the ad onto stone. All Internet enabled devices these days come with a spell checker so for me is in indictative of the treatment the car would have had ie laziness with regards to servicing etc.

If it was only the odd word then it wouldn't put me off.

If you know that spelling is not easy for you, then you get someone else to proof read it. It's 3k worth of asset. Even worse on more expensive cars...

Agreed. It looks genuine and the spelling mistakes perhaps aren't that bad. The car looks tidy and he's saying the right things, just not saying them that well.
