Two-footed Rebadging
Discussion
DIY model 'badge engineering' is pretty common place these days- the guy over the road supposedly has an M318 Touring- but the shear brass neck of this one tickled me:
We went to my cousin's wedding recently, grandfather of the bride had provided the wedding car, a smartly polished silver Chrysler 300C (a bit like below) on private plates and with a special twist; the old chancer had debadged everywhere else and swapped the centres of the Chrysler 'wings' for ones with a prominent white 'B'.

He parked it directly outside the front door of the reception venue where everyone was congregating to smoke or have a drink outside and then spent the whole evening going to and from to drop his jacket off, fetch his camera, drop his camera off etc etc. (is there a PH term for excessive public car lingering?)
The next day both my mum and uncle, knowing my weakness, asked me if I'd seen so-and-so's car- they'd been informed by him "it's the new Baby Bentley"!![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

What makes a rightly proud grandfather of a stunning bride deceive friends and family like that?!![confused](/inc/images/confused.gif)

Followed an Audi S4 down a slip road a couple of weeks ago behind a slow Zafira. When the S4 accelerated past the Vauxhall I gave it some beens (he had a modified exhaust so I could hear he was moving), I wanted to see how much quicker a B6 S4 was than my 740. I nearly went in to the back of him. Turns out it was a 2.0. Good one.

I just think people doing it are pathetic but harmless.... its not even worth mentioning to the owners or getting involved in discussing it with them ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

I've never understood why this annoys people.
I saw a CLK55 AMG badged car the other day being driven by a guy in his 60's. It had a single exhaust and "Avantgarde" badges on the side. Made me smile.

I was driving my mum (who bless her, isn't into her cars), in the Bentley over the summer and we pulled up next to exactly what the OP describes. I think t
t, he probably thinks the same and my mum says to me "oh, I really don't like that new Bentley - they've really gone downhill". Had to explain. She then thought t
t too and couldn't understand why someone would do that ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
