Right, I've had a drink-so I'm being silly, but bear with me as it might be quite a fun thread!

You are on a spaceship, and you are due to be meeting the ambassador to the alien plannet of Sol69.

The aliens are humanoid, but their technology has developed diferently. They use dinosaurs for transport, so cars have never been an issue.

He is curious as to what a car is. You were allowed to take one car along with you, which had to sum up cars in general, and all the uses that we have for them.

The most car like car, then.

I would go with this:

This. Perfect blend of style, comfort, pace and engineering. As well as being pretty handy at getting you from A-B

A grey Toyota Corolla, the only true "world car". Dull, dull, dull, yet loved all over the planet and completely devoid of class constraints.

A Volvo estate modified for racing, like one of the 850s they using in BTCC. Covers every use from practical transport of goods and people to pointless competition.

Plus the pile of bits you'd removed from it would show all the useful features like heated seats and junk.

Fun topic OP! I've often thought of this exact scenario. Although there are countless non mainstream cars and concept cars that would better fit the bill, for the sake of time and understanding/recognition, ill simply post cars in which we know and love! My choices would be along the lines of;
McLaren F1
Jaguar XJ220, especially the XJ220, looks about as alien as they come if you ask me!
Bugatti EB110
Viper GTS would be a sight I think to alien eyes.
Lotus 340R, another universally odd shape

This is all I can think of real quick from the top of my head. I would also show an alien a few sport bikes such as the Augusta MV, and maybe a Voxen Boxer or Ducati of sorts.

You should drink more, its a good thread.

As for P38 RR, Dinosaurs would be more reliable form of transport.

This is a good shout. Aliens would look at both cars and assume we were knuckle dragging idiots who could not screw together to phase cannon to save our lives and would leave us alone.

ETA : Hang on a second, they user dinosaurs for travel, but have traversed the vastness of space, are you familiar with the old robot saying "Does not compute" hehe

The Toyota Carolla is the best selling car of all time. Probably quite representative of a normal car.

Mk4 Cortina. You need nothing more than a 13mm spanner to work on it. Easy to explain to Mr Alien chap.
