RE: Pic Of The Week: Aventador in London
Friday 14th December 2012
You can look at pictures of big Lamborghinis all day long, and still be struck dumb when one rumbles past you, all razor-sharp edges and jagged detailing. Almost without exception, these are 'look at me' cars, so photographing one in front of a 'look at me' building - in this case, the glossy art deco facade of 45 Park Lane - seems fitting. Especially when night is falling, and there's a shroud of fog adding to the atmosphere of such a shot.
Pic Of The Week: Aventador in London
An Aventador on a murky evening in Park Lane makes for pic heaven
This particular Aventador has been tweaked by prestige car tuning firm Oakley Design - hence the adjustable rear spoiler and even wider alloys. What you can't see is that it's had an ECU remap and a new sports exhaust system, both of which bring the power up to 760hp. Reasonable to assume that it's quite nippy, then.
Thanks to Alex Penfold for the pic.

Ahhh a supercar parked in Central London, on double yellows, with a foreign numberplate, a rare sight indeed
Fixed that for you.An awesome piece of photography marred by the owners disregard for the rest of us.
Don't know the circumstance of the park, I will happily retract if proven otherwise. We see too many Lambos parked up like this with middle eastern plates.
I hope he gets clamped, not a good advert for lambo owners.

I dunno. I'm not a fan of over-processed supercar porn (although I don't object to it at all) so I hope next week involves some retro motorsport action dug out of a dusty archive somewhere.

You also see a ste load of UK plated cars non exotica do the same, but nothing is said.
The person who took the photo said he was staying in the hotel over night.
There are often cars parked on the double yellows there, down to the hotel I assume.
Yes but if they're Arab and wealthy they're the yummiest of targets for some people. There are cars outside on my street parked on double yellows, every single day. You'd bet any money that if one of those cars was a Lambo with UAE plates, my neighbors would go apesh*t! The person who took the photo said he was staying in the hotel over night.

An unfortunate trait of human nature really.
