I kid you not.

6 yrs no claims 37 yr old with 1 fault and 1 non fault accident clean licence 8K miles a year.

after the old duffer bummed my 911 with his Volvo in april I was expecting what I paid last year ( £550 ) + a bit on top.

This is a confirmed by phone quote from confused, I haven't even started insurance company ping pong yet.

I wonder if I can get it down to £250

I had similar - I owned a 996 C4 cabrio for 4 years between 2007 and 2011.

I was the same age as you, full no claims, no accidents - mine was a wee bit more than £340, but I never paid over £400 for fully comp either. Mine was kept on a driveway too. But I am lead to believe I am in a good risk postcode area though.

I was also surprised about how cheap it was - considering I pay £300 to insure a Skoda Octavia, and well over £400 for a modified Jeep Wrangler!

Insurance? Go figure!

My multicar with Admiral for our 3 series and 997.1 Carrera S is £700 - so yes, good prices around at the moment!

Premiums in general are approx 10 percent lower than a year ago, but must admit I found 911 quotes always coming back cheap... interestingly a turbo was the cheapest...

944 cab, 175 quid to insure, it's great being over 40 and living in a low risk area, even an S2000 is less than 300.

I can beat you...

I'm 32 and my girlfriend who is also on the policy is 31.

Car is used by us for social and commuting.

I put the quote below to Adrian Flux who are my current insurers and they at first claimed they didn't believe me, then begrudgingly knocked my renewal down to £290 in order to beat what confused.com offered.

I'm 26, renewal for my E39 530i Sport is £280 fully comp. An M5 is only £450, shame I can't afford to run one.

Last year my Z4MC insurance was 775 through a broker.

This year it's 430 quid through a regular insurer. Was surprised at the size of the drop.

Comparethemarket was quoting £300 cheaper than other websites though.

BMW 650i, 2005, insured for £25k business miles PA, last year £520, this year £330. Old duffer with no points!
SWMBO: BM 330, Rock steady at £220 PA for the last 4 years, although it is up for renewal next month. Fingers crossed.

BMW 550i, 2007, insured for 15K miles p/a, 38 years old, 9 NCB, one single vehicle accident claim this year, 0 points. £424 but had to shop around. Business use was £60 on top but decided I didn't need it.

ETA I think I will look at 911s!

Paid just short of £700 for a Corrado VR6 previously;

Costs me £170 a year for the 924 on a classic policy. Although it is limited and it's not my main vehicle. Bargain for a 24 year old!
