respray under warranty?
Discussion
Hi guys just after a bit of advice, bought a new car in November, 62 reg note in white, 12 month warranty etc, noticed the other day when I was getting my daughter out of the car that the paint on the roof is bubbled on rear offside and a couple of rust spots. Just wondering if the dealer would be able to get this sorted?
Thanks
Thanks
My bet is it's had a prang and sub standard repair previously.
What you'll need to do is approach a Nissan main agent body shop who will inspect the car, take paint depth readings etc and give a reason for the problem. If it's a manufacturing defect, they'll sort it. If it's had a shoddy repair, they won't.

As per what Nerva has already told us, the dealership owned it and ran it as a demo. What you'll need to do is approach a Nissan main agent body shop who will inspect the car, take paint depth readings etc and give a reason for the problem. If it had some sort of damage and has had a "shoddy" repair during that time, then i'd expect the dealer to sort the problem out now.
If it turns out its down to damage, i'd be getting an independent inspection too.
Paint / Rust defects will only be rectified under warranty if caused by fault at factory.
Unlikely and IME (over 20 years at Nissan dealer) problems such as these are invariably caused by untreated stone chips.
Nissan will only be interested if the problem has come from "inside out" and not "outside in" if that makes sense. For this to be the case the paint needs to be intact.

OP does the dealership concerned have a body shop on site?
Cant make out the picture, is there paint missing where the black marks are?
Regardless of whether it has been repaired or not, if its from the panel and not a stone chip then it is a valid claim under warranty. If the car has been repaired via a Nissan approved bodyshop then the anti corrosion warranty will still be intact as they have to be able to guarantee their workmanship.
If however there is any sign of damage to the paintwork - ie a stone chip or scratch that has gone down to the primer, it would not be covered.
My SiL has a VW transporter that unfortunately was involved in an accident and required a new 1/4 panel.
Quite recently there were signs of rust coming from the wheelarch. She took the van back and they said it would be covered and may even require another 1/4 panel to resolve the issue.
As long as its not got external damage stick to your guns and demand it be done under warranty.

Only viewing on my phone, but I have to say, they do look like stone chips which have allowed moisture to get under the paint.
Unlikely to be done under the manufacturer's warranty, but if it was genuinely a dealers demo all that time (although I can't see a dealer keeping a car that long) then a dose of goodwill from them wouldn't go amiss
