As it can't be mistaken and there is nothing illegal about it who gives a stuff. Driving a car daily thats used for wedding/film/music video etc. hire with its livery on is no different from me driving around with my race decals on from the start of April to the end of September.

I don't really know why this made the news. Woman is driving around in an ugly, US police liveried Dodge.

That's a brave move but I like it and expect it does generate quite a reaction from those with a slightly nervous/guilty side to them!

a chap down the road from me has a Soarer wrapped up like a police car which is always amusing to see driven about.

If they're blue, yes. I don't know about red ones, but I suspect the Soarer guy would claim they were just very dark amber... The BBC article says the Dodge's roof bar is yellow lights, so it's just a blue-painted strip above the LEDs.
