Tyre question?
Discussion
Got a call from my step daughter to put the spare on her car as she had a flat tyre. When I removed the wheel I noticed a big split where it looks like 2 tyres had been joined at the side! She bought 4 Firestone tyres from a place in Worthing 3 years ago and insists she's not had a new tyre since. Can anyone help shed some light or has anyone seen this before as I can't believe I've not noticed it before! I've heard of remoulds but sticking rubber on!?
It's where the car has been driven on the tyre with either very low pressure, or completely flat..... Just spotted that it's the inside of the tyre, so as above, could have been rubbing on a broken coil spring or something else in the wheel arch

No, what you're seeing is where the side wall has rubbed away, removing the side print and revealing rubber that isn't several years old.
This.Imagine of you had the tyre on a lathe and skimmed away a few mm, that's what you are seeing. Something has been rubbing on the tyre, if it was 2 stuck together then it would be the same on the outside.
