Greatest GT car
Discussion
So, my question is this - what is the greatest ever GT car.
EDIT
As gizlaroc mentioned in a post a few pages in, a GT car is something you'd want to jump in and drive to your holiday home on Lake Como, drive around for a week while you're there, then drive home again.
Since most of us don't have the need to drive at 210mph on rock-hard, low-slung race cars with number plates on, what makes a good GT car? What is the best for sale at the moment? What is the greatest GT ever?
I had a BMW 635d for a while, and that was a pretty good attempt. Quick, comfortable, quiet on the inside, and with a good range. Sounded a bit like a truck on account of it's diesel engine, but would happily sit all day at over 120mph, and although the experience was possibly a bit dulled, it was good at what it was designed to do.
So what now? What would be the best mix of parts?
For me, there would have to be a few requirements;
Anything else? Is there anything on the market today that would truly be a fantastic modern GT car?

For me, there would have to be a few requirements;
- It has to be quick - 0-60 in sub 7 seconds
- It has to fast - 160mph +
- It has to be comfortable and spacious for 2 people, with enough luggage space for a week
- It has to have a good range! 350 miles as a minimum. You won't always be needing that long range, but it's incredibly frustrating to fill up ever 200 miles. This figure is when you are in chill / cruise mode. No requirement for this to be achieved when driving fast or in anger!
- It needs to sound good through a tunnel (so no diesels!)
- It needs to have good looks - nothing too edgy or racy, but equally not too bland
Anything else? Is there anything on the market today that would truly be a fantastic modern GT car?

5-600 miles range?!
any decent GT needs to be a large wafty petrol engine - with performance, so mpg at c. 20-24mpg
that is a very large tank - I have had cars with 20 gallon tanks, but with low mpg - as cars become more economical, the manufacturer tends to reduce the size of the tank... I would be happy with 3-400 miles...

The S500 coupe has an 80 litre tank and 33mpg which gives a range of 580 miles.
It's limited to 155 so you'd have to take the limiter off to meet the top speed requirement. Meets all the other requirement as long as it's not too bland looking.

Alright alright..
So maybe 600 miles is a bit optimistic.
I'll change my requirements to +400 miles. It's still a long way!
Perhaps I should have made it clear that I'd like a long range on a long-run type of drive. Motorways / autoroutes / autobahns. Not in and about towns.... Even my auto Landcruiser will get close to 500 miles on a conservative run!

A range of "an easy 300" (ie. not running on fumes by 299 miles, so you can stop when next convenient) should give 3 to 4 hours of high speed running which is just right for food/drink/toilet/fresh air breaks.
The obvious answer is, of course, Porsche 911.
Honourable mention: Ferrari FF (assuming it has a decent sized fuel tank).
