Maserati fined for noise in London today!!
Discussion
This Maserati Granturismo was fined for being noisy in London, but it looks like he was pulled over just because of that downshift.
I know it can be a bit annoying for the residents when you have car meets taking place on Sloane Street and revving the nuts off their cars, but this was completely different. A guy going about his day and downshifted as he slowed down, not as if he was cruising around with several other supercars and being a nuisance.
Seems a bit unfair to me as its a loud car in sport mode anyway, what do you lot think?

I have a 4200 that blips the throttle on downshifts, if the car is standard and that's how it came out of the factory when it was type approved for EU use there's no way i'd be paying that fine
The MC Shift has the same type or robotised gearbox with a clutch, its not an automatic
This. If it's EU type approved then they're on a hiding to nothing, Shirley? It's not like he was ragging the nuts off it and causing a blatant nuisance; he was driving in traffic and slowing down for the bus!The MC Shift has the same type or robotised gearbox with a clutch, its not an automatic
Plod made much more noise with the sirens.
Noise is very subjective isn't it. Having watched some of the youtube vids in London with the cars revving and screeching tyres, some of them do need to be reined in a bit - but this chap, an over reaction I think.
I agree they should really have bagged him for his plate tough.

I suspect because he downshifted just as he drew level with the police car, no doubt they took offence on behalf of all the wealthy residents who've leant on the local police chief!
I heard a lot louder, this is harassment!

This. I'm willing to bet he glanced a look at them at about the same time too!I heard a lot louder, this is harassment!

Re: auto blip on throttle, I don't expect every police officer would be aware of this so I'm unsurprised if this is easily challenged.
Good riddance.
It's all very well downplaying the grief the residents suffer based on you/watchers visiting once, experiencing isolated incidences and figuring it's no big deal, but they have to live there. Why should they put up with this culture of anti-social driving and the reckless spotters that come with it?
Good on K&C Council I say, I'm all for zero tolerance in this instance, at least until the message has got through to others that it's no longer safe to drive like dicks down Sloane street et al.

Anyone else think that the prevalence of people filming everything on mobile phones should be made a crime?
No.I do think we've gone a little too far in the wrong direction with people filming everything and posting how outraged they were whilst doing nothing about it at the time.
Wrong topic for that though
