Anyone else love steel rims? Everyone I know thought I was mad for not ordering alloys for my Defender when I bought it, but just love the look of them on steel rims. I've also just put my M140i on steel winters and love the look. Much of it is down to the 'dish' that steel rims have. I always thought mini coopers, MGBs, old Mercs and many others look better on steel rims. So - share the steel love and show us your rims.

Though strictly speaking not a steelie. nerd

Most likely aluminium or magnesium.

Regardless, it's always satisfying having to use a mallet to tighten or loosen one's wheels. biggrin

Just put steels on the winter hack with CrossClimates.
A change from the Prodrive alloys.

That's excellent. Defenders should ONLY have steelies in my opinion, they are a perfect match. My old Defender was a County model so had the Boost alloys, never really liked them, steelies are definately the wheels to have.

Generally I like steelies, but only when they're looked after. Can't appreciate seeing them on a 15-year-old Ka because the wheel trim fell off and they never got washed.

Agreed! I want some beefy ones like those. The VW steelies for my winters are only 6.5J and look too weedy. Wouldn't mind some 8Jx16s!
