Voluntary termination.
Discussion
Hi,
I took delivery of a lease car (Seat Leon Cupra) in November. Now I have just got a new job which offers (a terrible but cheap) company car. From April I will have an expensive car not doing much.
Can I voluntarily terminate a car lease as you can do with a pcp after half of the payments are paid?
Cheersl

I'd be asking if there was a cash alternative to the company car, or keeping the Cupra and use it for your non business use, otherwise you're going to get royally stiffed.I took delivery of a lease car (Seat Leon Cupra) in November. Ask the lease company. Citroen wanted the remaining monthly payments - <10% discount.
Lease can be great but then..terrible if you need to terminate early.
Can't you take a allowance and suck up the excess mileage. It'll be waaay cheaper.

Suddenly having a (presumably unexpected) promotion and a free car to do your business miles and run back and forward to work in doesnt sound like a bad start to the year....
Nice example of a first world problem - 'I leased a brand new car, now my company are also giving me a car - I have too many cars, what to so?'
Seriously, talk to the lease company, you'll have to accept whatever they say.
And talk to your employer, ask if you can take an opt-out car allowance instead - most companies offer this now.

Is this why it's ALWAYS best to lease ?
Said nobody, ever.Edited by daemon on Monday 23 January 17:45
Where?
I dont think anyone really believes it though - do they? Hadnt spotted the thread but that guy was just looking for an argument.
The O/P of that thread said in the thread that leasing worked for some people and not others and then said "leasing doesnt always make sense"
And also "clearly my title wasn't meant literally... I knew the title would attract lots of comments..."
