To balance the ugliest car thread I thought it was worth celebrating where manufacturers have got it very right. I'll kick off with the new Peugeot 508:

Yep, I think that for a modern car, it looks great.

Yup, for a saloon the 508 is a very good looking thing indeed.

I like the 208 as well

But there are a lot of other alternatives, another saloon as one of them. Not many conventionally pretty ones but certainly plenty of purposeful and aggressve ones that look fantastic.

This is spectacular

Though the standard one is barely any less spectacular

This is a great looking car whilst being impressively fussy/ugly/vulgar. It's just so mean and imposing, perfectly fits what it's supposed to be IMO.

On the other end of the spectrrum for an Audi I think the Mk.3 TT was a lovely bit of minimalist design

These are stunning in just about every conceivable way.

I'm no fan at all of modern Mercedes but these are lovely.

Also think the 992 is about as nice as a base 911 Carrera has been in my lifetime (964, 993, 996, 997, 991 before it)

And the Panamera Sport Turismo thing is lovely in a classy way.

Also happen to think the Taycan and it's Audi sibling are great looking things.

I'm very, very biased I know but these just so good to me, especially in the blue.

Again, you'd probably call this ugly but for sheer authoritative presence with the absolute top credentials to back it up, the Chiron Super Sport is amazing to look at. It looks like it'll fk you up in all black.

Another that isn't 'pretty' but it's spectacular, the 812 Competizione.

I think once again you probably need to classify the cars, it’s much easier to create a beautiful car when it’s a two seat sports car than a family saloon. It’s also going to be heavily subjective.
For what it’s worth, I agree with the previous poster in one respect, the Giulia is a stunning looking saloon.
I think the Lotus Emira could be in with a shout as an overall one though.

Obviously this!, though I'm biased - but certainly is the best "On-A-Budget" smile

Not a new pic - Taken a year ago today in lockdown and on a really lovely winter's day....

For mainstream cars I'd say the Mazda 3 in that deep red colour is hard to beat.

Soul Red is definitely a special colour in a monotone world.

Cheating more than welcome when the car in question looks that good!

Another vote for the Gulia from me!

It has excellent proportions, even at the expense of some practicality. The central door pillar being one, it’s in a weird position. But even the QF versions look good and it’s a well balanced design. Nice and well done Alfa.

On the other side of this, the Tesla Model 3 doesn’t balance well in my eyes. Side and rear are ok, but that giant front windscreen and bonnet profile isn’t great to my eyes. Offers great visibility for sure, but from the front it just doesn’t flow to the eyes, though clearly does for the air. Model Y looks better proportioned for example.

I took 7 years to mean cars that have come out in the last seven years, not one that finished production a year inside that.

Strong candidate for closing the thread. Certainly nicer than the Peugeot earlier..
