We buy any car.com?
Discussion
I have been thinking about buying my Leon company car when I change my car in June. Looking on wbac.com it comes up as being £10,500 which is alot more than I would be expecting it to be worth.
Any used one of their outlets and how badly do they mark the car down from the initial price

I found them quite good on two seperate occasions.
However, both cars were faling apart (one had 5 bare tyres, and no MOT the second had no clutch and only half an exhaust) both cars went for way over market value at just over £300 each (both were also on 125,000 miles and French) so i like them
They did a little bit of dropping the price but what's the worst that can happen, take it in and see what you can get. You can always walk away after they've given you their valuation... also, make sure you negotiate, they start lower than they're willing to pay.
good luck!

Half the issue is people expecting too much money for cars they know are ropey and being upset when they have the audacity to want to check that your description for the initial quote actually matches reality before handing over money, and the contrast that usually ensues on the offer.
They are worth a try but I too think some people are less than honest with their descriptions.
I tried to buy an MX5 recently and offered the owner £2k she said WBAC had offered £2500 on their website.
I asked if she had mentioned the rusty sills, scuff down the rear 1/4 and the fact that the roof was leaking and needed changing.
Needless to say she hadn't.

Plenty of threads on here. Most do not make good reading. A friend needed to shift his car due to working abroad and got 70% less than they bid online. Seem to recall the guys who come out get a commission for getting a car for less than the wbac site quotes.
Why is that bad? He could have walked. Supply and demand. He could have sold the car privately. He needed the money. Perhaps he should have taken it to the DSS; he might have got a better offer there as they seem to throw money at people. They do not want 10 year old Fronteras and the like, hence the £75 bid.
They are owned by Carcraft and so want cars that Carcraft can sell on.
If you have an in demand car such as a VAG TDi and its not too old they will generally give you part ex value or a little less.
They valued my 03 Alhambra TDi 130 with 70k miles at £5650. That is probably what I would be offered part ex at a dealer.
A colleague has a mint MKII GTi with 78k miles which has been dry stored for 8 years. His wife wants him to get rid of it saying it must be worth a bit. He valued it on webuyanycar and it came back with a value of £75! His wife has now stopped nagging him about it.

They offered a pretty decent price for an old Clio the other half used to drive. No idea if we'd have got that amount for it but I did speak to somebody on the phone before we were due to visit and they assured us the price would not be altered if the car was as described (which it was). In the end we were offered a very good p/x price against her MX5 so went with that.
I don't see the problem unless they waste your time. You either accept their offer or pursue other channels. If on the other hand they offer you £x and you turn up and they change their offer to £x/2 then that is a piss take.

As they are linked to Carcraft avoid them! Carcraft are a bunch of robbing wkers who overprice cars and tempt the members of the public into a great monthly deal at 19.9% or whatever it is APR that they 'can drive away today'!
They are just sharks preying on people who cant afford to buy the same car for cash from a private vendor or another trader. A girl at work just got scammed by Carcraft. Paid £5500 for an 03 plate Micra. They gave her £50 p/x for her T plate Sceicento which had 11 months MOT. Yes she could have walked away but she is a young girl who hasn't a clue regarding car values etc.
Like I said and I will say it again, CARCRAFT ARE A BUNCH OF ttS!!!
