Which estate would you have?
Discussion
Looking for a bigger estate to go along with the C320 CDI estate that we will use for the usual family stuff (going to nursery, the tip, dog walks and the likes) and I have found the following:
Vauxhall Vectra 3.0 CDTI

BMW 530i

Volvo V70 T5

Ford Mondeo 3.0 V6

Which would you have?
Fuel costs not a huge issue but do not want to spend loads on having to effect repairs every week.

Gotta be the one, the Volvo would run a close second for me.I will have a look at the legacy.
The C320 has a great engine but just a little small to be able to 'throw' stuff in the boot - if you pack it properly it is fine.
I had an E39 saloon and it was brilliant but perishables needed replacing (suspension bushes, ABS sensor etc) and I don't want the same issues again - love them though.
Thought the newer cars would need less doing to them.

Great idea - would love the 4.2 V8 mind you! It is for the wife mostly so I do not think it would be used as it was designed!
Well, I am of the female persuasion, and mine is a lowly 2.7 V6... I probably don't drive it anywhere near how it "should" be driven (yet! not been driving that long!), but my OH more than makes up for it....Do it.
Buy one.
She'll be a convert in no time. So much power, so safe, so comfortable, so spacious... so PRETTY.

Could you stretch to an s4 avant or 540i touring? You'd sacrifice a chunk of steering 'feel'.
H'actually, this man has a point - even me, as a relative driving noob, can notice the difference in feedback from the S4. Admittedly, the other car I drive regularly is a beauty in the 328i, so the difference is perhaps more marked, but, still...
Although I do love my S4. You'd well fall in love with it, but where's the harm in that?!
