I have just been quoted, by 3 different firms, £6,900 + VAT to hire a single cubicle, for 12 weeks, with hot water for hand washing!
That cant be correct, can it? The firms were all local here in Glasgow.
Anyone have any idea of costs to give me a benchmark cost this morning?

Dig a hole and put a floorless tent over it, and a bottle of water with some cheap supermarket kitchen roll next to it.

There's one on the bay of E for £100 and it's literally 20 seconds down the road just by chance..

Yea it's a bit tatty but I'd rather pay £100 rather than £10k!

About £25 a week for our last job that was last week so a current price and that was for Fulham.I would think the hot water would ramp the price up as it is heated by propane but not by that much.

Do you NEED hot water ?

The std Porta loos don't have it and as mentioned are around £25/wk

When I was with Wimpey we used to get them for around £10/wk

If you can beat the £43+ vat a week HSS are currently charging, you're not trying smile

http://www.hss.com/g/25133/Serviced-Loo-Single-Uni...

ETA their heated "welfare unit" is only £262+ vat (so £3772 inc vat for your 12 weeks) and that has

  1. 5.8kVA petrol generator with remote start
  2. Electric lighting & heating
  3. Toilet and washbasin
  4. Hot & cold running water
  5. Sink unit, microwave oven, dining table & seating for six
  6. Drying room with electric heating

A company I used to work for does them and they have a branch localish to you. Called Nixon hire, were around 50 quid a week for a hot wash.

Surely the £6,900 price can't be right, that's an insane amount to pay!

Sadly they were totally serious! It was part of the price breakdown for a re roofing job on my house and was presented by the architect. Just for giggles there were several other zany costs ( try £500 for remedial re decoration plus a further £500 for use of dust sheets during remedial re decoration) or £1,500 for 5 sq/m sarking.... That's supplied only! Give me strength. I had 5 tenders to plough through and in each there were buried completely mad costs. Lots of pencil sharpening going to get done before this project gets off the ground smile
