Well done for being so successful at 19! Amazing it's insurable for you tbh.
And a quality plate.
Bang on And a quality plate.
There's no shame in the lad being proud of his new ride & wanting to talk about it on a motoring forum.
Well done OP, I look forward to the pics
Im still truely baffled by the ops decision process.
Cayman - one of the most desirable (if not the most) cars on the road.
Deisel slk -slow, expensive, dynamically uninspiring, and ive never heard a nice sounding 4 cyl deisel, so i wouldnt want to drop the roof.
I really couldnt give a dam whether it has a 12 or 10 plate, as its the wrong car!
Deisel convertibles make no sense.

Insurance on the Cayman for a 19 year old is too expensive compared to the SLK, as the cayman has a bigger engine. They are the same insurance group though.. Cayman - one of the most desirable (if not the most) cars on the road.

I'm picking the car up in 2 weeks, I wanted red bengal leather as the interior so they had to manufacturer fit it in. So picks will be soon.
And It thought about leasing it, but the in the long run it will be more expensive. So I'm buying it out right.
Also bearing in mind I someone who is 20, so opinions may differ across the ages.
I am also 19.

Yeah. The guy above me just asked why I picked the SLK over the Cayman so I explained.
Just ignore them mate, not worth the time.Your car, you're paying for it, you're driving it. Who gives a st what some bloke on a forum thinks.
Enjoy!
Loved this BTW

I need to spell it out? You bought a brand new car which will loose a fortune, not to mention VAT immediately. A 1 year old cayman would of allowed you to offset insurance...I guess you know all this since you are in that position to buy...?YeahYeahWhatever said:

Give it a rest, he's clearly not interested in your "expert" advice and has made his decision. Good for him.And it's "lose" BTW

No, he's just hiring somebody elses for 2-3 years.Merc were banging them out at a pretty decent rate this month, about £300ish a month I think. Therefore quite easily affordable to pretty much anyone with.. well, £300 a month spare which will be most 19 year olds who chose to go into work from school rather than Uni. Really odd thread, seems like a blatant 'look at me' thread however much he pretends it isn't.
Why else would we find out he has an expensive plate, a Mercedes, a brand new car and is 19 all in the first page?

Oh the irony...
I'm also fairly sure that the OP confirmed earlier in the thread that he had bought the car rather than leasing it as it's a better deal?

This should have been posted on the 'what car have you been obsessing about today' thread.
I trust that child the SLK will be supplying the custard

Here we go again. And you're calling the OP childish?
