I have a request of 'the ronin' when he arrives - any photos of your GT40s, Cobra 427, Miura SV and RS200 EVO?
Some RS200 info for you here, plus contributions from the man himself including pics. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I think the real talent here is the bloke who really built it, twincharging it in a week, adding duel fuel injection etc. The car is ace, I don't like the wing but accept that it needs it, I even think it looks good in a skunk works sort of way.
Frank does need a lesson in manners though - I'm sure he is very proud of it, I would be if I owned it, but he is completely blinkered and unable to accept that anyone might not like it.
As for the (fking ) Porsche appearing, and then "BAM" into a "pit" move, really? He makes it sound like he was attacked by the Porsche owner. He must have done something unpredictable, it seems very unlikely the Porsche would just drive into him for the sake of it.

Just to change the subject. Why is the car being worked on in a workshop that's a cross between a rubbish tip and a scrap yard? Not the place to strip an engine.
Some of the best engineers work in places like that , a clean workshop and row of snap on tool boxes is no indication of talentPhantomPH said:

Way to reward rudeness, PH.
It qualifies you to break all sorts of rules, apparently:Way to reward rudeness, PH.

I predict a monstrously-proportioned spitting of dummies, swinging of handbags, and opening of cans of Yankee whoopass when Ronin finally finds this thread.
Can't wait
I think he got banned from here? Not sure though. Can't wait
If you have read all the forum links so far posted you could summarise...
1. He speeds reguarly on those roads. All youtube video evidence of such antics have now been removed by the owner.
2. Has already been questioned whether it is wise to crave even faster entry speeds into those blind canyon bends, via the use of additional downforce wings and slick tyres.
3. He mentioned having eye surgery a couple of years ago which affected his vision in one eye. That in combination with little rear three quarters view on a widened Elise may not have helped in an alledged lane change.
All those elements are facts right out in the open. I suspect those aspects will colour anyones opinion of what happened that day.
Having said all that I am glad the owner is ok. I also hope the car is rebuilt and we can see more videos one day.

You can’t denige that that the car Frank has created with the help of his mates is pretty special. But Frank's general demeanour when anyone has the effrontery to challenge anything he says has inevitably lead to a lot of haters. And too be honest I just find his use of language offensive. He could have been one of the most admired guys on the internet but his manor has alienated so many people its silly. This incident and his language and comments over on Ferrari Chat have already lead to a treat of a ban today.
The problem is his reputation has taken so many hits now the genius of his creation is now nothing more than a side bar, it’s a shame

Sucks! I wont venture into the blame portioning chat, i just think its a shame the car he’s put so much time/money into building has come a cropper, as i feel of anyone’s PAJ ending the same way. The pics dont show too much damage, mainly looks cosmetic, but that’s what i thought of my brothers old car before the insurance wrote it off as ‘uneconomical to repair’
Having read the posts on other forums brought up through various links, i get the impression Ronin has upset very many people!
All the dealings i have had with him have always been polite and informed. Yes through other posts he comes across as a bad tempered/short fused badmouth. But the internet is full of those! And most of the guys i see him arguing with on other forums are just as bad as he is, condoning public highway drag racing, racing the same canyons, but somehow doing it safer than Ronin!? The contradictions are comical!
There is a huge amount of ‘my cocks faster than your cock’ antics going on, and zero being done to put it to rest, be it through a race or by fisticuffs lol

I must admit from reading his description that it sounds like he didn't see the Porsche alongside him (in his blind spot?) pulled left into it, and the impact on the rear right span him into the barrier. Porsche driver definitely should've stopped sooner, but the implication that is was a deliberate police-style manoeuvre from someone who hates him seems off.
He seems to try as hard as possible to come across as an abhorrent human being on every forum he visits. Not really surprising people react negatively and don't believe a word he says. Impressive commitment to make the entire Internet think you are a prick. Shame really as it's quite an impressive car.

Embarrassing Sycophancy at its best. Not just from the PH team either.Way to reward rudeness, PH.
It has to be said though that this Ronin character whilst a good car modder comes across as a rather unpleasant and angry person if his online persona from the previous story is anything to go by.
I hate to think what he'd be like if you bought one of his creations and there were problems with it.
Ahm oot!!

Yeah agree with that - why is it only this bloke can exercise his right to free speech and opinion??? PH - if you reckon that the cars are crass, thats OK with me!! Why say you got it wrong - that spoiler sucks...in my opinion, and no one will make me change my mind on thatGassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
