Have to agree.

A wry smile at the crapness of the car is one thing but sending him abuse by mail is not on.

He has different taste but is clearly proud of his car.

it is poor manners/taste to email him and doesn't reflect well on the site.

he probably spent years saving his giro for it, so give him some respect, and he comes home to that everyday.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks it's bad form to email the seller. I have contributed and enjoyed this thread as much as the next person - the car is truly terrible, but nice people can have bad taste. His eBay feedback is good so he is not a complete dodgepot - so to actively direct him to a thread which brutally criticises his car and his wife's looks, and her perceived lack of sartorial elegance is bad form.

Agreed. PHers on the whole seem very keen to slate the appearance of most females, yet every PH gathering I have ever attended has been awash with the kind of women that wouls attract abuse on a thread. I just wish it was compulsory to post a photo of you own Mrs, before slating someone else's! smile

Sending abuse to the guy is clearly not on and i don't condone it BUT before people start jumping on their soapboxes just a quick thread to point out:

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Obviously he's not actively doing that (and if he is then only God understands why) but if this had been posted in there would there be the same reaction?

Just noticed this on the ad:

Safety Features Alarm, Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS), Driver Airbag, Immobiliser, Passenger Airbag, Xenon headlights
Colour FERRARI RED

Xenons? I think not and 'Ferrari' Red!

So let me get this right:

Guy tries to sell his car, obviously one he is proud of and inadvertently includes a picture of his girlfriend / wife in the background.

We amuse ourselves at a) the state of the car and b) the state of his other half.

We then send him a link to this thread.

We then amuse ourselves some more at his edit to his listing.

Seems pretty shabby to me.

It doesn't happen often, but every now and again we shower ourselves in st to outsiders of the PH world.

This is one of those occasions.

Having said that, dreadful car.
