Apart from a low mileage 997 this is a close second. It will concern Jaguar how good the Cayman & Boxster have turned out.
The battle will be over highly overpriced options and which is the most expensive standard list price. Jaguar will have to undercut both to have a success on their hands, or else it will be too expensive and too near the X-K.
I think not - Jaguar have a brand new car - not a variation on a theme - this will be Porker downfall - they are not moving the game on one jot The battle will be over highly overpriced options and which is the most expensive standard list price. I get that you're clearly not a Porsche fan Stelios...but don't jump on here saying these cars are bland...it doesn't wash and you won't get much airtime amongst Porsche enthusiasts on a forum celebrating the launch of the latest model evolution...yes evolution (not revolution) picking holes in the Cayman...met and spoken to a fair few 911 owners who rate the Cayman over 911's as a more rounded package and great track day car...not necessarily my view but having tracked a Cayman owned a 911 (964 C2 S), Cayenne S and a boxster S they are all far from bland cars with the base Cayman 2.7 being an absolute peach on the track..to interject on a discussion further back in the thread - makes me laugh..was on the thread last week of PH about the new F type and general sentiment as to how pricey it was..when one comment was thrown into the fray: "FFS must everything be compared to Porsche...??" and here we are on a Porsche thread and comparisons are being made to the new F type...(just a mildly amusing observation from the sidelines).... what will be will be...

- A linear steering rack
- An extra 5cm steering wheel reach adjustment towards the driver
- Removal of the throttle lag from fully closed so corners can be entered properly on transition from brake to throttle
Sorry, just my honest and humble opinion.

if Lotus can manage the above on the Evora for less than Porsche spend testing cupholders, surely it's possible?
Sadly Lotus has made itself all-but irrelevant with the sales disaster which is the Evora. They are clearly losing money on every car they build. I don't think that's what Porsche have in mind. Well done Porsche......again! It appears as though the evolution strategy is alive and working. I would really appreciate views of colleagues on the forum in relation to the following. I want to buy a Cayman. Depreciation becomes less of an issue as we all know if you decide to run the car into the ground. If I am to that with the new Cayman then I would want to spec it up to a good level. (Lets say £60,000 off of the forecourt). That might be a tad too much. So what about the purchase of an R ( £42K isn from an OCP); enjoy it for two or three years; sell it privately ( £25k??) and then buy a high spec 3 year old Cayman S.
Or convince myself that you really do only live once . Thanks for those who offer up some advice!!

If with all this great news you can't quite think of the reason to opt for a 991; this is it:
Very very near to my perfect spec.
I think we may be in a minority liking Green. I was only looking at this gen2 997 the other day...Very very near to my perfect spec.
